Has anyone ever seen a factory assembly manual for a 1970 240z. I have many questions about putting my car back together. Please help!
Thanks,
Dan Linquist

Dan - I never heard of an "assembly" manual. To the best of my knowledge, Nissan only published two manuals at that time - the L24 Engine Service Manual and the 240Z Service Manual for S30 Chassis and Body. This may be the book you are looking for, although it does only a rudimentary job at best on some topics.

I checked XenonS30.com, he does not have the 240Z Service Manual posted, is looking for it. And... I'm sure not volunteering to give up mine!!!

Jim

This is a highly excellent book for reassembling a z-car.You can't have my copy! It is full of excellent exploded views of everything....it's not useful for rebuilding a motor,(there are better books for that) but for putting the whole rest of the car back together it's invaluable.

Yup ~ I have Wick Humble's restoration book and would be even more lost without it.

In fact, I took mine to last month's meeting and showed it at the front of the room when I had the floor, suggesting that every S-1 owner contact Walter Miller in Syracuse New York to order a copy. Step-by-step instructions with pretty good photos. Not perfect, but a tremendous head start over doing it yrslf.

I believe that the Parts Catalog provides a good source of information about how things go together. Lots of exploded views of all the subsystems.

If you have a Broadband connection to the net - drop me an e-mail:

I can echo everything Marc, Frank, and Carl say - I have all of these pubs and regularly go from one to another. The big value of the service manual is all the torque settings and other tech. specs are provided. To paraphrase a certain political figure: it takes a library to build a Z.

I did a quick check of Ebay, found this Service Manual for the 1971 240Z up for auction, starting bid $30.

Or just say, "where does this go", and I and others would be glad to help.

Well, if Dan's anything like me, it would be less "where does this go?" and more "How does it get in there???"
