Does anyone know the largest (bore size) brake master cylinder that will fit in an early Z ('71 - '73) ?

I am using a 280ZX master cylinder, 15/16" bore, in my 76 280Z. I am not sure if it bolts to the 240Z Booster due to the push rod depth variances. Push rods can be swapped however.

I have the 15/16" '79 280ZX master cylinder on my '70, bolted up to the vacuum booster easily. The front/rear fluid chambers swapped places between the '70 and later models though so you'll need to do some eyeballing to see which one you have...to compare the lines with yourmodel.

Many thanks, gentlemen. 5 min. ago I purchased a 300ZX BMC (1 1/16" bore) with vacum booster, used, on Ebay for $44 incl. shipping. I'll let you know how much "adapting" will be required.

Have you been to hybridz and read the brake upgrade FAQ? You might find the info in there.
