Ok check this out. This is why I am a pack rat. 10yrs ago when I got my first Z I did all the maintenance on it first which included changing the still good Nissan fuel filter. Well instead of throwing it out I saved it. So I remembered that today and stopped by my parents house and found it in 2 seconds. So I got home removed the old one and found that my gas was orange. So that's not good. Well I put the fuel filter in from my 1983 datsun 280zx turbo and what a big difference. I also put more gas in her. 93 of course. Well looks like a flushed out tank and new pump will do the car good. So my old Z saved my older Z. Kinda cool having a piece of my old Z in my new Z. And let me say the Nissan filter looks like a better quality filter. Still idling a smidge rough but I think it needs a valve adjustment again. They tick alittle again. See you guys tomorrow!

"...i drained and poured rubbing alcohol in the tank when i got it and it looked pretty clear."

You mean real rubbing alcohol or gas dryer ? Isopropyl rubbing alcohol comes in 60% AND 90% versons, that means 40% or 10% water going in your tank. Just wondering.
