I heard from Phil tonight, and he was out in his garage putting the finishing touches on the re-mounted old tank. He was getting ready to throw a couple gallons of fuel into it and watch it for leaks.

Update....gas lines have been attached, 5 gallons of 93 octane fuel added, Z started first try (as she always does)! You got to love these cars.

Test run tomorrow to see if driving causes any leaks. Since this is my original tank with close to zero rust, I don't expect any issues. My only concern this time is the o-ring area where the sending unit sits. We had to "straighten" that out a bit :wink:

The Oring should be fine as long as it was new and not gas soaked.
I couldnt believe how the one on my tank had expanded (gas soaked)when I did my walbro install
