I'm looking for recommendations for a good Battery Safety Disconnect Switch for my Z car.

I want one which will stop all current in the event of an electrical emergency, and which I can turn OFF as a theft deterrent while the car is parked. I know some have a fused wire which also supplies just enough current to let the clock keep running, which sounds like a good thing, but it isn't essential for me.

I DON'T want one which physically separates the cable into two pieces when you turn it OFF. I want it to remain together, but able to Discon or ReCon with the turn of a knob.

Can anyone recommend one brand/type which they're REALLY happy with?

Airjockie those are no good. Thise will isolate the battery but will not isolate the alternator. when its turned on, start the car, and you can turn it off and your car wont kill. Thats because the alternator will keep power to the car. Get a Longacre. They have 2 big poles for battery disconnect, and 2 smaller poles for fuel pump or alternator cut. Otherwise its useless if you use a 2 pole. and if it dont work proper, tech inspection at the track will not let you race.
