I've been back and forth with JSK regarding the set up and he had asked about the brackets being welded or moved. I took apart the set up and noticed the caliper bracket was not OEM, but manufactured. The theory of a welded bracket was proven.

I searched a few Z forums and came across a car being parted out. Luckily, he pulled the front strut assemblies and mailed them last week. They arrived this morning.

The shop will be switching the strut mounts this week. I'll update the post when completed.

Thanks in advance to all who replied and contributed. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Update....

I finally got the calipers and rotors on. The problem was the strut itself. It seems when the older Wilwood set up was installed, the original caliper bracket was removed and replaced with a modified one.

I couldn't tell until I sent pics to Juan at JSK to verify. I was lucky enough to find someone parting out an older Z in LA and purchased the strut assemblies.

The conversion kit looks great, and for the price, it wasn't too bad. About $500 for the calipers and pads, less than $300 for the adapter brackets and hardware.

I'll see if I can get some pics posted on my album in the next coming weeks.

Now to address a different problem.

After the installation of the new calipers, rotors, and new brake fluid, the brake pedal seems very hard. The pedal was hard to begin with, hence the decision to replace the hardware, since the calipers on the car were 15+ years old and I though were starting to freeze up.

I was going to check vacuum and the brake booster. Should I be checking the master cylinder as well? I pumped the brakes to bleed the system, so I know the master seems ok. How much vacuum pressure should I get on a gauge? What should I check with the master cylinder / brake booster to see if it's functioning properly?

Anyone's input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!!
