Hi everyone. I am the new owner of a 1979 280zx and I am trying to get it back in dricing condition. I am working with the guys at Autotech in Stamford and they tell me that they are having a hard time finding a rear emergency brake cable. Any suggestions on where to look? Thanks.

Try Motorsports Bill, I did a quick lookup, not sure it's exactly what you are looking for...

You also may want to try Blackdragon, formerly Victoria British at this web site

Billy,

You might try Nissan dealer too, they may still be able to order for you, it's probably worth a try. I haven't tried ordering from the Darien dealership, they do offer club discounts on some items. I have always had good luck with Courtesy Nissan located in Texas. Very courteous and Z knowledgable. They cater to the Z community.

There is a way to rebuild what you have. It may not look original when done, but it will work. I did my 81 n/a right side cable 2 years ago and still works great. I'm one of those guys that fixes the actual problem, and then and only then if I can't fix it, I buy new.

Phil. I just got off the phone with Butch at Courtesy Nissan. They had it in stock and are shipping it today. The other sources were either out of stock or only carried the 82-83 model years. Thanks A LOT for your help. I would have been looking for this forever!

See, Billy ~ if you had bought a simple 240 this would all be easier!

Cool, sounds like luck because MSA doesn't have those years either, only 82-83. Also no listing for the 240 and the 280's are $300 + So I'll keep the 78 one I have that just needs the rubber ends to look good and keep dirt out, but works good. So now you can do some E-brake slides, yippi. 8~D
