hey frank, that picture shows where i need the pickup. the boss that's not tapped and drilled in the picture is the one that is used on my block. there are two mounting holes, untapped and a pickup tube hole started, but not drilled down, as if it was an after thought. if i can't use this motor i'll steal the head for my original 2600 motor that lost it's head 14 years ago. i must have too much time on my hands, or i like to punish myself.

Why punish yourself, can you send it back and get one that will work? Can you post some pics. of what you're doing? (the spot were you want to drill.) Gee, I have some 2.8 engines laying around, just a thought.

hey paul, thanks for the offer, but i have a couple of motors laying around, i just wanted to use that motor because it's brand new and i have no money tied up in it. the picture frank posted shows the boss that's tapped and the one that's not. the motor i have is reversed from the picture. if i can't make that motor work i'll use the motor that came out of the car 14 years ago. it only had 50,000 miles on it, but had a bad head.i'll use the new head off the maxima motor and maybe gain more compression. mike

Mike ~

The picture of the block was posted by Bryan of ZGarage.
I made the comment about boring block holes with rifles.
AirJockie has a few engines taking up space in his garage, which he occasionally threatens to sell. You might wait until the end of the month when his mortgage is due and make him an offer!
Vinny asked me to post his EMail for you, so you can reach him directly.
