Hi fellow Z'ers,

I pulled my burnt harness out of my dash and the engine, it has been a loooong yr. and a half since I pulled them. I put them all back to the best of my recollection, but can not remember where the distributor hooked up to!!! There are 2 sheathed cables coming from my distributor, with 2 wires coming out of each. I believe it was runnning, using just one of the cables, as one of the cables has NO terminals on the ends........I think the dizzy was replaced by some SCHAMOK of a mechanic, but it ran!!! Does anyone else have 2 cables off of the distributor? And would someone please tell me where they connect on the harness or the block on the inner fender near the ignition coil??? It fired once for about 3 seconds, then I did something, now it just cranks over, but won't fire....I think it is a transistor type distributor, because it has a rotor??? I had a dream!!!! Like Martin Luther!! One fire at a time!!! Once I get it connected correctly, then I might be able to tell if it is a bad brain box.....or ECU? any help would be appreciated!!! my "new" bumper looks good, huh? Gary (bigGar)

The bumper looks fine, but it will look better if we get the whole car to move.
Hold on ~ I'm running for help. A member I know will assist you. Please take a number and wait your turn.

Seriously, there were two dizzies involved with that model, and it's impt to know which one you have (above my intelligence level) so I will send help.
Watch this space for a real mechanic arriving soon.

PS ~ did you download the wiring manual Phil referred you to? You're gonna need that eventually.

Can you post some photos of the internals of the distributor and the harness coming out of them?
