Bob, are you there?

I'm involved in an off-screen discussion about the Power-to-Weight ratios of your early BSR cars. Can you recall how much weight they were able to trim off the basic 240? Did they get it under a ton (after you installed the roll cage)? And I know the engines had to remain basically stock, but what power figures were they able to squeeze out of them when you first got them?
As I recall, either BSR or BRE were the first to introduce the concept of the shock tower braces ~ which? And did C-Production require stock carbs or were you allowed to use Webers back then?
Thnx/Frank

Frank, thanks--As I remember the SCCA weight was around 2150 lbs and the power in the 280 was around 320...thanks for your interest...Bob Sharp

About 6.5 lbs to each horse.

Not bad! For performance comparison, the 289 Cobra was the first production street car to boast a 10:1 weight to power ratio (10lbs to 1hp).

That allowed it to accelerate 0-60mph in 6 sec, which set a then-new performance standard for streetable cars...... I guess we can picture the comparison!

Thanks Bob.
