Shared by our German member Thorsten Link, here is a copy of the original FIA homologation paper submitted for HLS30-00001

This is the formality which every auto maker must follow when they introduce a new model car, and promise to manufacture at least 50 of them.

It's fascinating to me to follow the constant improvement this car underwent, each step requiring an upgrade to this wonderful official document. This is every dimension and weight to every part of the very first 240Z, as corrected over the years.

HINT: enjoy yrslf a fresh pot of coffee while this loads, and have your phone close at hand so you can call your Z buddies as you pore thru it. It's well worth the 60 seconds it takes to load.

I consider this to be Page One of the Z Book of Genesis. Thanks, Thor! Many people who have been in the Z-business for 50+ years have never seen this document.

Interesting document. I did not know this was a requirement to build the car. Thanks for sharing Frank and Thorsten!

I am under the solid impression that the automobile was first created in Germany, so I don't understand how the French got away with seating the FIA ("Federation of International Automobile) in their country.
But nobody complained, so I guess they remain the international "authority" on building cars.

Somebody please talk me out of that idea.

Frank
