Hi-

I'm Joe, from Branford, CT. Last May, I fulfilled an almost 30 year old dream and purchased a 1994 300ZX TT with only 7,718 original miles.

I'm looking forward to meeting up!

-Joe

Welcome to the Club Joe, thats a great looking car you found there for sure. I have a 96' TT with 17k miles and I thought that was low mileage.
We have another new member (SammyChamois) in East Lyme and I am sure many more in your neck of the woods.

Thanks guys.

Yes, wait I certainly did. I've been looking for a few years, but every example I found always came with tradeoffs from my wish list. This one checked every single box: Only wanted a 94 or 95, completely bone stock, 5 speed, TT, black on black. I was willing to budge on miles. However, when it showed up with only 7700 miles, that was the clincher. The scary part is that with only 7700 miles, I am now the 6th owner!

I'll keep an eye out for any events that are held and hope to meet up with you all at some point.

Thanks again for the welcome.

-Joe

Check under the hood (everywhere) for a decal which tells you your timing chain has been changed at some point. It's generally the most-costly maintenance due on those cars, and they are recommended for replacement every 50,000 miles or so (check your manual for exact specs).

One of our newer members was pleasantly surpriZed to have such a decal pointed out to him by a Club member on his 'new' TT, thus saving him about $6,000! :D

Cool. Thanks for the heads up Frank. I would have never known to look. I'm not expecting to find anything though. While the car only had 7,000 miles on it, everything was original - tires, fluids, everything. It even has a Nissan battery, but I never had a chance to check the date code.

It's going in the shop in the next couple of weeks for some maintenance items. I will ask my mechanic to take a look at the chain. Thanks again!

Well, technically it's a belt.
People born in the Chrome Age automatically call them timing chains.
Sorry.

Oh, o.k. You confused me there for a second. I had the timing belt, water pump and thermostat all replaced before the car was shipped to me.

Thanks again for looking out for me!

We have several of these TTs in the Club. Only the rich guys got 'em.
You all should get together when the snow melts and take a cruise to welcome in the new Zeason.

Welcome to the family Joe. Sometime things just fall into place, like this car of your dreams. Congratulations! I hope that you're aware that owning this 1994 "machine" also means you qualify for antique car insurance which might be considerable cheaper than"regular" car insurance. Better rate and better coverage is always a plus. Good luck and enjoy your ride. 8)

I'm laughing - this is the first time I've ever been called rich in my life! haha

I'm a firm believer is work hard/play hard. After years of working in nyc and commuting 5 hours a day on the lovely Metro North and saving rather than spending, I got lucky that my dream spec car became available.

What's the best place to look for cars and coffee/meet ups?

Life's a journey, enjoy the ride!

You won't find much during the winter (road salt kills the old Z cars), but in the springtime you will see our UPCOMING EVENTS forum fill up with meeting and event notifications. Also, just so you don't overlook it, each summer Middletown CT holds the best free "Car Cruise on Main" you will ever attend in this state. Sometimes more than 1,000 cars of every kind park along the Main Street and inside the city park. All free. Wonderful event, not to be missed. Look it up and put it on your calendar today so you don't forget it.
