Exicited to be an owner of 2 Datsun 240Zs. I've always had a thing for vintage Japanese cars, and for Zcars in particular. Long story short, we ended up with 2 of them  within a month. White one is a Early 72' it needs to be fully restored, floor plan hole and typical rust. It looks ok in pictures but after some thought it's more than what I want to get into right now but it runs and drives. It was an adventure driving it from the end of Long Island to Port Jeff then Bridgeport to Norwalk.

After heavy research found a 73' in great condition 918 Orange, owner had it for 34 years and it was his baby. Southern car, garaged the entire time he owned it with a few mods. Rebuilt L28, 5 speed, triple webers etc. It has very little rust, solid floors, solid rockers and quarters. We had to have it, drove 900 miles rountrip in one day but it was worth it. Searched for a local Z car specialist and found Vinny Bedini. Vinny definitely knows these cars, showed us what he was working on ( engine rebuilds, suspension, brakes and full restos). He did a quick rundown on the car and even did a quick compression test with very good numbers. Confirmed the flattop pistons with the high compression results. I feel it's in good hands!!

Can't wait to drive it next year, a little bummed I missed the last meet in Darien which is only 5 minutes from me but there will be more. On to the pics! BTW my name is Kevin

When we made it last minute on to the Port Jeff Ferry!

Welcome Kevin
That white one looks pristine. Where's the rust?
How'd you come across two of them?

Wow, I'm both excited to have these two nice Zs added to our Cyber-Stable, and jealous of the rush you must be getting by suddenly owning TWO Zs! Wow.

Welcome Aboard to you and your daughter, Kevin, and congratulations on suddenly owning two very nice 240s. I zee they actually both have Webers; the white '72 has downdrafts and the orange '73 has sidedrafts.

Tell us your plans for both cars? Do you have room to work on them at home? I'm very glad to hear you already know Vinny B. He's our Guru and he's the answer to just about every issue you could ever have with a classic Z.

Looking fwd to meeting you and zeeing those two beauties in person. In the meantime we have a long winter ahead; please stay active on this this website and help us stay sane until the cars come back out again!

BTW our member John runs Big Dog Partz, which makes complete floor pans and rails for the early Zs, in case you decide not to sell the white one to Fred Flintstone.

Frank T

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

@Frank T sorry for not clarifying, the woman in the pictures is actually my girlfriend/wife, we are the same age. We own and operate a shop in Norwalk specializing in meticulous installation of clear bra/paint protection film on cars as well as high end detailing and ceramic nano coating application. Hence the shop in the pictures.

I kind of live and breathe cars, really into track and autox. My other car 2013 Scion FR-S is slowly turning into less of a street car and currently debating on putting a roll bar, my thought is safety first on track, as things get more serious.

Current plan is just to drive the Orange Z ( calling her Clementine ) A LOT and get to know it better, it won't be a garage queen by any means except for winter season. We actually picked her up from Vinnys two days ago and WOW I'm super impressed, it pulls hard and idles smooth. It was a nice drive from New MIlford to Norwalk, I swear it squats when I floor it. He did some maintenance things, upgrades and clean, rebuild and tune the Webers. He's the man, very glad I found him. Thinking of upgrades for the future but for now we just want to enjoy it and get to know it.

For the white Z, I slowly want to fix it and make it safe and driveable for the street, it's up in the air whether to keep it and or sell it in the future.

Oh CLementine has been out for a while now! Drive it on a weekly basis. Put a few hundred miles on her already this year. Probably going to C&C in Milford this Sunday April 23 and Greenwich C&C April 30.
