Thanks Bill, but I already have the 'real' ones on my car. I'm just thinking that a set of 'solid' vents might be handy to prevent exhaust sneaking back into the cabin. I'd like to try a set of solid 'vents', just to see if it would work.

I have so many holes behind my taillights that haven't been patched. So I can't say how well they work for blocking fumes. I'm curious to find out though. |

Well, you're right. The biggest areas of exhaust leakage into the cabin are the vents, the hatch seal as it gets old, and the seal around the taillights (especially once they've been taken out and replaced, such as for painting). The tail lamps weren't a leak concern from the factory, but once they have been pulled out, it seems a real task to reseal them properly. |

 I was able to make a trade with Paul for these carbs yesterday. I've been selling some stuff which should help with my car budget but I won't be able to make any purchases until I find a permanent job. (I have a 2nd interview with a company in Attleboro MA on friday so fingers crossed) Until then I'll just be playing with these and cleaning up some more parts that I have. I hate that winter is coming. I hope everyone else is enjoying their cars while they can. I may bring mine down to RI one last time before the great freeze. |

With my registration being expired I figured I would put her away for the season and start doing maintenance. But while I was warming the car up I noticed she already made a new friend:  I started doing the manifold gasket. I knew there had to be a huge leak somewhere because the car would drone very loudly while driving and was only getting worse. I had fixed all the leaks on the pipes so the manifold was the only thing left.  Now I'm trying to determine what to do for an exhaust. The more I look at the stock header the more I don't like it haha. Anyone know a good exhaust setup or where to buy supplies? I know finding a header will be easy, it's the rest of it that concerns me. One last thing, If the nuts on your manifold studs corrode enough they eventually fuse and act like regular bolts:  This will make putting those new studs I got a piece of cake! |
