My name is Mike and I just joined the club, though I've been following the site for several years. The Z bug first bit me in 1982 when I bought a silver and black 1977 280Z that was given the "GT-33" tag by Bob Sharp Datsun in Wilton. It was rusted out so I completely repaired and repainted the body and it was spectacular. I sold it in 1990 and then found another 1977 280Z in great condition that I still have, but I'm looking to sell now. About 6 yrs. ago I also owned a 2003 350Z that I had for a few years before trading it for a BMW 325xi (I needed something with 4 doors and all wheel drive!). Always loved the Z's and I hope to meet many of you at upcoming events this summer. If anyone is interested in my '77 280, please let me know and I can send pics and more info. It has 73,400 original miles on it and runs beautifully and looks great.

Welcome Mike!

Great to see another "Zeasoned Veteran" around here! We're glad you've been following the clubs progress as we have grown year after year.

I, for one, am interested in hearing (and seeing!) more of your 77 280z. Feel free to post here, or send me a PM.

Again, welcome; You've found the best Z Club within the atmosphere.

Hi Mike, welcome aboard! Always great to meet a man with 30 years of Z experience and I too am anxious to meet you in person and zee your Z.

The 280ZX was a milestone in the production lineup, representing almost the epitome of development for the L28 engines and every GT luxury item available to man. But as Bob Sharp has said, "metallurgy was never their strongpoint" so very few of them remain in original condition today.

Bet you wish you still had that GT-33 today! They are very rare and much sought-after. Bob is an active member of this Club and takes us to Lime Rock Park each year, so you'll want to get involved in that. He still honors all his old customers from the Wilton days, and loves to swap stories and autograph Z parts.

We meet monthly at various locations around the state. Second Wednesday of each month finds us pawing over each others' cars and sharing piZZa before the "Z fellowship meeting". We have a good time and exchange a lot of useful information. You should meet with us as often as it's convenient to do so. Mid week meetings are not lengthy due to work or school schedules, but it's better than messing up summer weekends. We're very family-oriented so feel free to bring the wife and/or kids (no dogs, drugs, alcohol, cussing or skateboards) and dress casually. We promise to be friendly and helpful and I think you'll have a lot of fun.

Show us some pictures of your Zs, when you find some?

Frank T

Frank, Oh boy, don't I wish I still had the GT-33! It was beautiful and had about 72,000 miles on it when I sold it in 1990. I think I may have a few old photos of it before and after the exterior restoration that I'll post in the near future. Looking forward to talkin to you and the others in the future and seeing everyone's rides.
