Welcome back Filipe, glad to see that Jim was able to recover your posts.
Sounds like a great new Z as well.

Hang in there, Filipe!

I'm making progress! I was finally able to get your original posts restored, but there's still work for me to do...hopefully another week or so and I'll have it 100%!

- Jim

It's been a good while since I've posted any sort of update here, so here goes:

In the last year and a half or so, I've found my vacuum leak (inside the cabin, under the dash), changed my o2 sensor (be careful with the O2 bung adapter in the manifold), changed transmission, differential and brake fluid; installed polyurethane rear end links and sway bar mounts, and a new battery (now sitting on a tender in my garage). I also ran the codes on my ECU - that was interesting.

For the most part I've just been ordering a bunch of parts. Coilovers, steering knuckles, front mount intercooler, short throw shifter, SS brake lines, list goes on. After I graduate this spring, there should be a lot of changes. I'm also looking into having the transmission rebuilt at capitol transmissions in Hartford.

What's wrong with the gearbox now?

Gearbox has always been notchy since I bought it. It's gotten progressively whiny, and sometimes 1st, 2nd and reverse doesn't go in. The Borg Warner T5 is well know for acquiring bad synchros, so it might be something as simple as that.

One of the rewarding and cheap mods I've done thus far on the Z31 is the installation of the poly urethane tidbits. I recently did the rear sway bar end links, and gave the sway bar a refresher as well. My mentality is that if I have to take it off and put it back on, I might as well make it pertty!

This Z is almost back together...*almost*. I need to push the pistons back in on the rear calipers, and change the oil, then give it a whirl. I'm not sure if I posted what went wrong with it, but I'll make a nice post when I get it all fixed up. (Hopefully this weekend!)

Is that a tree stump holding your gearbox up? :|

No, that's the tree stump that I'm going to tell my grandkids about if my jack stands ever fail on me. It's placed under one of the frame rails as a "safety".

Not without personal injury, or some of my best "french" to date, but ‪#‎RandyThe84ZXT‬ is back on all fours. Oil change tomorrow, dropping the battery back in, and hopefully going for a spin.

**NOW ACCEPTING BETS ON WHAT PIECES FALL OFF FIRST**
