Hello all,

Just found your site. My name is Doug and i'm from Lancaster, Pa.

i.m normally over at HybridZ but found this site when I tried to get some information on a 260Z that is currently on Ebay and located in Danbury Conn.

I was wondering if anyone on this site was familiar with the car. Here is the link from EBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1977-Dat ... _500wt_948

Thanks!

Welcome, Doug! Some of our members cruise your area on our way to/from Hershey, Carlisle, and other great PA car shows.

We all know the guys at RDZ ~ they're our members. I don't know this car personally, but I could cruise out and look at it for you if you were interested.

Research and Development for the Z (RDZ) is one of the premier Z upgrading tech shops in CT. They are NOT professional car salesmen, and they are serious about maintaining the good reputation they have built up over the years. We know and respect these guys.

This is the first I've heard about this Z, and I didn't know they had it. Don't know if I can reach them on Sunday, but I can try. I'll ask Scotty what the background on the car is.

Why not stick around? This is a fun Club and the members are really great people. More than 700 Zs in our 'stable' and over 500 members at last count. Should be someone in here you could have fun talking with!

Frank

Yeah ~ I'm surpriZed Scotty hasn't mentioned it to us here on the website. I'll get in touch with him this weekend and ask if it's a legitimate Ad or another one of those bogus rip-off Ads where people make up phony deals "too good to be true", to lure buyers into firing off a quick deposit.

Doug, I just got off the phone with Scotty from RDZ. This is a legitimate deal. The car is real, it belongs to his co-mechanic Joe, and supriZingly enough, the car just came here from PA.

Scotty says it's mechanically excellent, with a very good body, but the paint is applied by rattle can and the PO sprayed the wheels, too. No roll cage but a good fuel cell and racing suspension. 5 spd stick gearbox (don't know how it got referred to as a "hydraulic" transmission in the ad).

Anyway, they're closed Sunday but you can call Joe at 0800 Monday and talk with him about the car. He has several offers already but Scott doesn't think he's promised it to anyone yet.

RDZ: 203.628.7725

This is the best I can do for you.

Frank

Saw this Z at the Sept CTZCC meeting which was held at RDZ. Sounded great when Joe started it up!

I did speak with Joe, good guy to speak with. Shared in detail the specifics of the cars strong and weak points. The car certainly sounded interesting but I decided to pass.

Currently talking to a guy over at zcar.com. Stock 75 280z for sale but it would make a great starting point for a swap down the road.

I will continue to check back here - really like the friendly greetings and the eagerness to help out!

Thanks again!

So long, Doug ~ we'll be looking' to cross paths with you further on down the trail.

There's a great free BBQ picnic coming up in Darien next month; it's your best chance to meet all of us and zee all the carz together.
