Hi guys,

Not an official z owner, but going to look at a beauty and hopefully buy one in about 2 weeks. I'm from central CT. You guys have great knowledge, thanks for sharing!

Filipe

Welcome and good luck on your quest!! You don't have to own a Z to be a member, just appreciate them!

Hi Filipe! Welcome to the best Z Club on the planet. You're gonna like it in here.

If you found a RUST FREE Z31 for anywhere near $4000, jump on it. Expect some hidden problems here and there ~ they just "grow". It'll give you something to do on your weekends. There's plenty of Z knowledge in this Club and everyone likes to help each other.

You don't have to own a Z to belong here ~ You just have to love them. But I don't know anyone who belonged for long, without getting one. It's infectious.

You should attend as many monthly meetings as you can. Get to meet everyone (nearly impossible ~ nearly 600 members now) and start having some good Z conversations. Don't be ashamed to drive a Ford to the meetings until your Z arrives. Most of us have been there/done that. (Some of us still arrive in Mustangs!)

We'll all be waiting impatiently to zee some pictures of your new Z. You can expect it to take over your life (and most of your bank account). You can work for years on a Z and never consider it "finished".

Looking fwd to meeting you in person.

Z ya ~

Frank T

Frank, thank you for your warm welcome. It is with much delight that I read your post. I've been reading on CTZCC for a few weeks now waiting to get approved, and have been blown away by your array of contributions to the forum.

As a college guy, the summer is soon arriving for me, and hopefully most of it-or a good part of it- will be spent tinkering with a Z!

Thanks again for the welcome.

I was in the exact same boat a few weeks ago! It sounds like a pretty good price.

VERY strange because I also just purchased an 86 N/A from out of state with similar history.....

Not quite Frank. (my dad's name is frank!) LOL.

I haven't purchased it yet. The owner has it in storage until she will be back home. I'll be taking a look at it in two weeks.

I do have some pictures if you guys want to take a look?

Certainly! We all love to look at Zs, anytime, for any excuse.

Let's see if I did this right....

Is that T-top trim supposed to pop out like that?

Thanks!

DANG! That's a beautiful Z! I don't see anything wrong with it, except no, the T-top isn't fitting right. I wonder if they just placed it on there for the picture, or reversed sides or something?

This looks a lot like one of our members' old cars (Tom W). He sold it to a guy up in North Haven, who kept it for a year and offered it for sale. I wonder if it's the same Z? (But I don't see any CTZCC decals on it).

These cars are SO fast...! You're going to have a great summer, man! :D

(JTng, that's not the same Z you "bought", is it?)

Frank

THANKS FRANK!

So from what you saw, worth every penny of 4Gs?

It's another widowed owner. Husband bought it new and its been in the family ever since.

I know the spare tire well is a common spot for rust. Any other pockets not as obvious that are worth checking out?

These things characterized as fast? Not one I've heard before

I hope it isn't JTangs!

I'd want to look it over (and under) before genuflecting over it, but if the mechanicals and undercarriage are as good as the body and interior look, I'd say it was Well Bought. I know other members who have paid more for Z31s which didn't look half that good.

We have scores of Z31 owners in this Club who know "secrets" about these carz, and who can tell you what to look for. Plus, we've got members who run RDZ in Danbury (Research & Development for the Z) and they have decades of experience with them. I'm an "old Z" guy. My Z31 knowledge comes only from hanging out with our many members who own them. The ones I've driven were absolute whirlwinds!

As soon as they zee your New Member Intro, our Z31 owners will be chiming in here to help you out.

Sweet car!

That's also in my master plan. I have set up an appointment with a mechanic to get it checked out.

I've read about RDZ on this forum. So good to know there are so many Z enthusiasts just a drive away from me!
