Hi all, first chance to post since joining earlier this month
founder of CT240Z club back in 1970 with Val Cote after a
street encounter. Original '69 240 was called "slow blue"
back in the day ....... met many great friends treking, racing,
etc. until move to Memphis in '73. After moving around back
in CT in '80. Sold my 928GT a while back, missing it came
across this roadsterized conversion in Rochester, NY. Wasn't for
sale but after discussions with owner between June and Sept. he
finally sold it. Had it transported early Sept. Brought back many
memories and had some of the mods. I might have done to my
240 had it not succumbed to terminal cancer in the late 80's
Too many winters in New England and Chicago.
I'm going to be needing some help with the "what is it?"
Needs more gears or OD (only a 4 spd.) and mods to the SBC V8.
Also needs a travel top that's drivable if we get caught out.
Wife's name Carol, I'm Jack Durand from Tolland.
Look forward to meeting many new friends.
Hope this isn't out of place, but I have a number of old 8mm films
from the old days, does anyone have the ability to convert to digital?

We've had a Jag xj12L, Subie SVX and many other cars from T-BIRD
SUPER COUPE, Cad. Fleetwood Brougham, 75 Monte Carlo 400, an
88 Blazer 1500 and various other family cars. Currently 740i, XJ8 and
Tahoe. Carol had 66 and 68 GTO convertibles we wish we had today.
Anyway, guess we like cars.

John, WELCOME!!! It is so good to finally be in touch with you. We've been waiting to hear your Intro (I cheated ~ I told everyone at the meeting last week that you had joined us  ).

Your reputation proceeds you, Sir. There are some members of your old 240Z Club here in the CTZCC. Like you, they have spun off into distant corners of the planet and returned to CT. When I mentioned your name, their eyes lit up and their tails began wagging.

I am anxious to meet you in person, as we all are. I suggest you and Carol attend our next meeting (12Oct) at RDZ in Danbury. You can find directions here: http://forums.ctzcc.com/viewtopic.php?t=6347

Some of your old members should be there and Bob Sharp is a regular there, as well. We'll feed ya', but not fancy.

THANK YOU for joining us. I know you'll find this an enjoyable Club ~ the membership is great. Bring that wild 260 and let us drool on it, pleaZe?

Frank T

Thanks for the welcome frank. We're looking forward to
getting back into the Z fold again.
Mid week meeting across the state are kind of tough, I work
in Hamden so I'm half way there, however, it may be that the
Oct. fall thing will be our 1st opportunity. Also looks like a great
format. I'll be watching the posts to see how to get involved til
we can make a physical trip.

look forward to the cook out Sat. and a chance to meet many of Z members ........... don't believe I did that ...

Going to have the tranny looked at Fri. to see what options are
available for least $'s ........ it's going to take some tweaking to
get this car to drive as I'd like.

1st need to address the lack of top end........ with the4 speed
need to pull 3500-4000 rpm just to cruize on the interstate which
isn't my choice for a 5200 rpm engine .... tends to run in the 190-200
range which bugs me cause I think it has a 160 or 180 thermostat.
anyway, I plan on making the long trek to Darien Sat. weather permitting,(no top) at a pace which I'll just call liesurely. Think I'll switch over to the
even forum to see about hooking up on the trip.
