What's happening everybody! Yep, I'm the new kid on the block for now and I'm excited to be here. I have a 72 240Z that is going under the wrench to be outfitted with an LS3/6spd. For this project, I have open ears to any words of wisdom.

Hi Reb ~ where you from, buddy? Tell us a little about this '72. What shape is it in before you start your project?

NO!!!!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! PLEAZZZE DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!

(Save the few 240/260Zs that are left in somewhat original
condition!!!!!) The 280Z and the 280/300ZX are stronger
platforms for that kind of transplant if you really must.

Oh yes, and welcome to the Club!

I'm not a fan of the sound of an American V8 in a Z, but the LS series engines are a great choice for the car if you're looking for some nice inexpensive performance. With all that power though, it's a good idea to add some greater structural strength of the 240z, since it's body isn't quite as rigid as the later models. You'll especially want to go over the frame if it's at all compromised with rust. There's a few people in this club who have swapped V8's if you need any help, EvilC being one of them.

Good luck with your swap!
