Hello, Jeff here from the northwest corner of CT. I have been looking at the web site for the last two weks and really enjoy it. The pictures and forums are great. Wasn't sure if I should join because my 240z is not on the road right now, but after 2 weeks on the site I realize there are other people whos cars are not on the road, and members encourage people to join and come to events even if their cars aren't road ready. The Datsun 240Z has been my all time favorite car so 6 years ago my wife surprised me by buying a 1972Z for me. She secretly purchased the car and I never saw it until I picked it up. I got it home changed the gas and fixed a broken spark plug wire and it started right up. Unfortunately I cannot afford to have it restored and after looking at it more closely I know it has been in at least one accident if not more. I am sure the person who sold it to my wife did not tell or there is the good possibility they themselves didn't know. So it has been 6 years and driving it around the neighbor hood isn't working for me anymore so I am trying my hardest to get it on the road on a limited budget. I envision it looking good as it drives by but when it is standing still and your looking at it not so much. But more important is the fact that I need to be able to drive my Z and enjoy it. So I am hoping to learn some things and get valueble information when I run in to some glitches. Will try to post some pictures.

Welcome Jeff. You don't need to have a show car or even a driveable car to have fun and fit in here. We are glad to have you aboard!

Hello, Jeff (and your wife-- didn't see her name anywhere above,
just inferred that she must be some terrific wife to 1) recognize
where your interests lie, and 2) to do something REALLY creative
in helping to fulfill the same).

We welcome BOTH of you, and we encourage BOTH of you to join
us at any and all meetings and events we either sponsor ourselves,
or put on jointly with other clubs/organizations. And bring any kids
you might have, so that ALL of you can enjoy what we try to make
family-friendly events! What's that?-- they can't all fit in one Z?
EASY SOLUTION! BUY ANOTHER Z! Or tell the kids what you want
for Christmas!

All Z Best,...............................Kathy & Rick

Welcome, Jeff! Really looking fwd to meeting you in person, and getting your Z restoration rolling. One general mistake I have zeen people make is trying to restore their carz at a faster pace than their budget can afford. We are a fun Club and it's torturous to come along with us if you don't have your Z ready (ask me how I know!), so some owners try to rush their restoration. If you've restored your Z right but can no longer afford to live indoors or feed the kids, you've done it too quickly!

Take your time. Study other Zs, and get ideas from what mistakes other ownerz have made. Don't be afraid to ask for some advice or help. It's fun to work together on these carz and some of our tightest friendships have been formed over skinned knuckles and rust in the eyes. Shop around for the least-expensive partz and service. Do as much as you can yrslf, but leave the hi-tech work to trusted professionals.

Our 15July meeting will be at RDZ in Danbury. We always have a good turnout there, because the gearheads all feel at home in the shop. If your wife has reservations about attending, pleaZe tell her we don't drink, don't fight, don't cuss & swear, and we treat each other with respect. It's fun, actually, and she'll meet other Z wives and sweethearts there, too. Dress is always casual, food is always free.

Really glad to have you with us! Looking fwd to zeeing your 240 on the road!

Frank T

Welcome Jeff and Danna,
I don't know if you realize it or not But you just joined one of the best and biggest families in the country that all share the same passion, morals, and the the Z.
Here you will witness a lot of love for these cars and also the inspiration to work on yours more, and before you know it with a little patience and time yours too will become a wonderful Z car that will give back excitement and thrill to own.
You will learn a lot from each and every member you talk with, If one person doesn't know something the next person will.
So fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride.  :D :D :D :D :D
