Hi, Boomer is the name.
Congrats on your great site and for your good taste in cars. I am a Datsun nuts since last millennium (time fly). I had 3 240Z and one 280ZX 2+2. Over here in France they are RARE! I found your forum when looking for info for my next project. An IMSA inspired 280ZX. One of your member have THE GRAAL period (PLN 280ZX) and I look forward to get any inputs you guys could give me on setting this beast up.

My last 240Z JDM style

That's it for now, Fred

PS: I have a love affair with OHIO (blindy I must be) but you guys live in one the the greatest part of the US. Just plain gorgeous

HELLO, Fred! We are very happy to have you here in the Forums with us and hope you decide to join our Club. If you do, you will be the second Z owner from France to become our member! :D You two should meet and become friends!

We are happy to know the Z cars remain popular 'over there'. They certainly are 'over here'! We have more than 550 Z carz in the CTZCC and we think we represent EVERY model of EVERY year of production.

We would like to hear more about your Z, please? It appears to be in good condition and looks very roadworthy. What style racing are you using it for, Rallye?

Our member Skip has Paul Newman's racer, one of the 'Hottest' ZX cars ever raced! There are many other racers in our Club (including the great Bob Sharp Himself) and between them they have about a doZen working race carz.

I'm sure you can find the information you need here in this website. I hope you will also decide to join our FREE Club. On the homepage, press the Big Red Button and complete the membership application. It's easy and quick.

You write excellent English and you have a beautiful car. I visited your website and was VERY impressed (it's SNOWING on your website! :D ) and I think you would have fun with us if you joined.

Z ya!

:P Boy, am I a new proud member of the CTZCC or what?

Glad to be with you folks. My 240Z is now gone to a (an even better) better place. I broke the engine on the highway coming back from a track day session. And I had family trouble at the same time. With the years, I became a sort of master at decoding the Little signs of destiny in our boring life. I knew it was time to move on. I sold it and don't regret it one second. The new owner is an all time big fan of... Bob Sharp Racing. See for yourself his latest creation

Image

Back to the 240Z. It's a collection of 15 years of JDM and bespoke parts.
14" Watananbe 7 front 7,5 back. The wheels are from the late 70' not the same as those sold today!

4 corners LEDA coil-overs
Front and rear big sway bars
front and rear strut bars
This thing was a real Karting
ZX front legs with ZX brakes
Nismo comp steering wheel (that I miss)
L28 block with high comp shaved P90 head
thunderbird exhaust line with real twice pipe
FI TDI SU (that was fun to set up with the help of Rick Patton)
All that on a clean 1972 California import shell.

I had a hard time keeping up in the straight with my friends 240Z (one with a UK made stroker 270HP and the other one with a Rebello stroker) but I would more than make up my lost in the corners...

I plan to do better with the 280ZX and prove that it's the underdog of the L
6 family

Fred! I just received your application today and I am writing you a WELCOME letter to explain some interesting things about the Club.

I have located you on the map of France and I am jealous! Wine country, seacoast and LeMans! With a Z! Life cannot get better than that!

You will hear more from me this week. In the meantime, WELCOME!

Hey everyone ~ say hello to our newest Z brother, Fred in France!

Frank

Hiya Fred and welcome aboard!
You're gonna have a blast here!
We've already got the 'carrot car',just makes sense that we'd get a 'key lime pie car'

MerZi !

The lime color wasn't one of my favorite at first. But it grows on you like crazy and after a while everything else look dull!

I am sure I will feel at ease with you neighbours, after all I am just right across the pond! Zee me? And I see that Doctor Beck is one of the member? Can't be a bad club then.

As for La Rochelle, it is a wonderful city with a lot of history. I went to New-Rochelle once and I must say that for obscure reasons New isn't always better

Back to Z... and Le Mans. Tell you what, I drove at Le Mans in a 240Z. It's a lifetime experience. It wasn't a race just 5 track-day type runs in between the Classic race event. But on the real circuit. What a blast going down the Hunaudières straight at full speed. So fun, we didn't bother to look at the speedo to see how fast we were going.
The 240Z is eligible to the 24H race because one raced there in the 70'.

This 240Z was racing in the 70' serie

Too bad the 280ZX can't go on the track... but the club spot is good enough. We camp at 20 meters from the track.

As for tge wine  I live close to the Bordeaux wineyards but even better in the Cognac area. I'll have a Cognac/schwepps on you guys!

Welcome Boomer, I guess I have the key lime with white frosting. :? My Original paint was the limon I call it, now it's white. (over the original, lousy job.) So cool you got to race the 240. I hope the next project works out, a 280zx, yea It's a different ride than the s30, mostly do to the trailing arm suspension. It was meant to be a luxury sport, and it does ride nice and smooth, but the 240 handles better. From a street riding view that is. So welcome, and hopefully we see you at one of the events.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Is that not a 59-60 Renault Dauphine in the second picture,
the white car all done up with flares and such?
I have never seen a Dauphine in other than stock configuration,
and the last time that happened was years and years ago.

Spot on Rick or is it Kathy?
Here the beast... You're right it's a Dauphine Deverez. Verry rare because it's a car with a road title (a thing almost impossible to obtain in France today).

Cognac is above the rest, but Jagermeister did more for our beloved sport
