Hi All,
My name is Irv Rich. I've been a member for a few weeks (months ?) but hadn't registered here.
I finally purchased a '71 240Z, HLS30-14940, 11/70, BRG/black, auto/ac
(I'm physically limited to automatics). The car is coming from Ohio and I should have it by the midle of next week. Impatient that I am, I have purchased so far : N47 '83 Maxima head, '83 Maxima 4 sp. automatic, sway bars, header, front bumper, and rear spoiler (a lot of these parts thanks to Michael) ! Next, wheels and tires ! Unfortunately, you need at least 16" wheels to get decent performance tires.
I made the last meeting and had the pleasure of meeting many fellow "Z Crazies" like myself !!
I'm looking foreward to meeting more !
Regards,
Irv Rich

Hi Irv,
I guess yours is something of a "stealth" new member post since you are tagging onto another new member.

Always great to find someone else with a Series 1 car and you can be sure this is a club that really appreciates the old iron (as well as all the other models). Looks like you are planning a few upgrades. Be sure to hold on to all the discarded parts as this bunch really knows how to put them to good use on restoration efforts. Lets see some pictures of that Buckeye Baby when it arrives.

Jim

Hi Irv - don't worry about your post! As you can see, I've moved it into a new thread by itself.

Welcome to our club!

Irv, you and I have spent so much time talking on the phone and emailing each other, that it was an absolute pleasure to finally meet you in person at our "unofficial" Club dinner meeting in Guilford. You're an interesting character and I look fwd to spending much more time hearing your fascinating stories about your racing days.

I also know you have finally bought the 1970 240Z you were looking for, which makes us brothers! :D

You're gonna love this Club and I know you will enjoy meeting many more members this year.

Great to have you aboard Sir, and WELCOME!

Yup, exactly as Frank just said.

Nice to have someone else in my age bracket/generation around!!

Since a "Goat" is a Pontiac performance car, I guess I have to phrase
it: Welcome to the Club, you old Z! From one old Z to another.

All Goat (I mean Z) best,.......................Kathy & Rick

Irv's new 240 is a Nov/70 model, licensed as a 1971. It has the solid steering wheel, rear hatch and pillar wings of a 1970, but it was 'born' after the 1970 model year ended. VIN is 14,9xx.

The car is exactly what he asked for ~ an Automatic with factory Air Conditioning and only 55,000 original miles, with VERY little rust. Many manuals and spares came with the car. Engine has dual downdraght Webers and hasn't been run in awhile. It will get thoroughly pulled down and checked before running. The car has the original "D" wheelcovers, new tires and appears to need very little work.

Here's the car fresh off the transporter from California, before and after its first East Coast washjob. Congratulations, Irv ~ nice find!

Yeah, Clive, she looks just like our #171 except for the raised white
letter tires! Even has the black interior, of which I believe there
were substantially fewer made than the tan. Still ours still has a
loooooonnnnnnng way to go to catch up to Irv's car's mileage of
55,000.................But I promise you I wouldn't turn it down if Irv
happened to get generous some day!

Irv, you're gonna love this Club!
As we say in Texas, I garn-dam-tee ya!
