Hi fellow z car people. I have been a member of zcar.com and met a guy from here that invited me to join. After looking over this clubs site I wholeheartly decided that this was a club that I wanted to be a part of. I live in western Nebraska ( please don't hold that against me , haha )for 14 yrs. but originally from Cheyenne Wyoming . I have been married for 22 years to my beautiful wife and have an 18 yr. old daughter and a 17 yr. old son . I have a 79 zx parts car and an 80zx driver, 3 maximas a 91, an 01, and an 02. I also have a 94 f150 4wd vanworks custom truck that i've had for15 yrs. My 80zx is in a state of restoration but I also drive it nearly everyday so the restoration is very slow going. But I'm getting a lot of fun out of it. I've had it for 5 yrs. now. When it becomes better looking some day i'll post pics.
Thank You to the member that invited me to join, you know who you are. I will strive to be more of an asset than a burden to the club.

Well, WELCOME, Cornhusker! Nice to meetcha and to know the "Z Bug" bites people out there, too.

I have been thru Nebraska in the summer (drove my Z thru there in 1976) and nearly melted. I heard your winters can be a bit excessive, as well. I'm originally from Sundance but haven't been back there since I was a toddler (which was shortly after the dinosaurs died).

I disagree with your idea about WAITING to post any pictures of the Z you love. There is beauty in each of them, at whatever stage of repair (or disrepair) they might be in. You obviously love the car, or it wouldn't be a rolling restoration. Take a few shots of it as-is and feel free to brag about it. If yours is on the road, then each of our cars has looked worse than yours!

These cars are never 'done', so if you wait until you think it's 'finished', we'll never see any pix of it!

Try to think of it like being in love with a good woman. Regardless what the years might do to her, you can still see her true beauty in her eyes and in her smile. She brings back years of happy memories each time she sings to you.

It's the same way with these Zs.
And that's how we look at them, too. So let your Z smile at us.

Well Howdy, Mr. ZXToy, and welcome from a former TX guy.

As Frank said, I (should I say we) hope you will inveZtigate our Club
and our Site, and if you haven't already done so, will find it worth joining
up. Frank waZ right, it is FREE (as in no $$ charge), but WILL cost you a
couple of minutes and a few keystrokes. I once paid that exorbitant
price and have never regretted it.

Thanks for the mention of your '79 ZX partZ car. I may have to try to
negotiate for some partZ with you after I pick up our '79 on Monday.
See, you are being an asset to the Club already!

Welcome...how's about a first Name?

We are happy to have you here on the forum and feel free to join the club officially as Frank mentioned. After a few months of watching and participating in the forum you may find yourself heading our way for one of our events. We have had members from GA, FL, and WA make the trip and were not disappointed.

Thank You for the warm welcome! I'll give you a little history on my zx. Several years ago there was a small impound lot on my block. This zx had been involved in a high speed chase and was abandoned and the owner excaped on foot through a corn field (fiqures huh) . The police never caught him but impounded the car. It sat in the lot for two years and the lot owner got the title for fees.It sat in front with a for sale sign for 6 months. Every day I drove by it and admired it. I even called him and the price was out of my budget. He was preparing to sell the building and lot and called me to do some carpenter repairs to the building. I did the repairs and he offered to give me the car in payment. I did all the building repair work over a 3 day holiday weekend with less than $100 in materials. So I got my zx for 3 days labor and less than $100 in actual money out of my pocket. I hadn't planned on working that holiday so it wasn't a loss in revenue. The guy told me that he would have to pull it over to my house because it wouldn't start. I got the keys walked out and started it right up. He was really surprised. He said he had tried to start it several times and it wouldn't fire up.He said this car must have been meant for me. It Was. My zx and I have been together ever since. I really enjoy working on it and even more driving it. I know it will be with me for a very long time. I have only seen 2 other 280zx's in my area and only 3 240's that were not running. Ther are a few 300zx's but not many. They are pretty rare cars in this area.

Careful what you do, one of our members is a Police Captain and
another also had a career in many aspects of law enforcement!
