Hello All,

My name is Adam and I have a 1993 Z32. This is my 2nd Z. My first was a 1975 280z that my wife and I absolutely loved for many years until an inattentive driver ran a red light and T-Boned me, totaling the car. I was heartbroken! With a child on the way, the Z was replaced with a series of more family-friendly vehicles. Alas, Z ownership became just a fond memory until a spring day in 2004.

I drove by my wife’s place of work and noticed a 1990 Z32 parked in the lot with a For Sale sign in the window. When I asked my wife who owned the car and mentioned how I always liked the Z32’s styling, she replied that it belonged to the guy next door and that I should make him an offer for it. Wow, I’m not even in the market and I already have the green light! Well, I couldn’t come to terms on that particular vehicle but with the unsolicited go ahead in my pocket, I couldn’t stop there.

I found my 300zx online in Colorado. My daughter, 15 years old at the time, had never flown before and asked if she could fly out to Colorado with me to complete the transaction (I was planning to have the car shipped back to CT). As it turned out, we flew out together and ended up driving it back home. It was a great road trip and bonding experience. The acquisition of this Z has provided memories that she and I will cherish for our lifetimes.

I autocross the car in F stock at many Fairfield County Sports Car Club (www.FCSCC.com) events. I look forward to meeting fellow Z enthusiasts.

Welcome Adam, glad you've found us!!

It's interesting how we all have stories about how a Z touched us in an earlier life and which buried a seed that eventually grows into a passion.

Enjoy the ride! We're all anxious to meet you!

Hi Adam! Welcome aboard!

What a great story! And I want to meet your wife and shake her hand ~ you beat the hardest hurdle of Z ownership in the first step!!!

I'm jealous about your trip with your daughter. My 15 year old could hardly care less about my 240 (except when I drop her off at school in it).

The CT Z Car Club is a very family-oriented bunch. Many of us still have both a Z car AND a family (others have just kept the car!) and we like to get together as often as possible. The "Z wives" in this Club have all grown pretty close and, altho I have never eavesdropped, I suspect they all have some pretty amusing stories about what us guys go thru to keep our carz.

The Z-32 is a stunning car, straight off the showroom. Then, no matter what you add to it, it just looks better. A remarkable bit of engineering.
You'll be happy to know we joined forces last year with the CT Autocross and Rally Team (CART-CT) and expect to attend many of their events this year, including our Club's first-ever Autocross (still in the works).

We'll be looking fwd to meeting you in person at the first opportunity. Keep your eye on the UPCOMING EVENTS forum for our first chance to meet. By the time this winter's over we'll all be so lonely, all 340 of us will probably attend the first event we hold!

Glad to have you with us. Put up some pictures of your Z when you can.

Z ya ~

Kathy was kind of the other way around, she married into a family of one
husband and 5 Z's. She's not what I would call a Z Nut, but I couldn't ask
for a better encourager. In fact, if it weren't for her opening communica-
tion with Phrog and Frank, the cars would still be in mothballs to this day.

Hey ~ that's true, isn't it?

You know, I never did thank her for that.

"Z Wives" are so cool. I think we should print a "Z Wife" T shirt, with our Club logo on it.

Good story to hear, nice to have a wife that loves Z cars to, I know, and I'm gifted, tomorrow is her birthday as well, going to be a good Super bowl Sunday for her. Well hope to meet you and your new Z at some of the shows. Big show year, lots going on......Z's 4 ever.

Paul,

Yes the handle comes from the TV show/occupation. I'm looking forward to the upcoming events. Happy birthday to the wife. Go Saints!

Adam,

Did we meet at a RDZ300 Limerock gathering a few years back?

Are you the Grey Z32 pictured? Marine Officer if I recall.

Can I get in on that too, or is it only for Corps guys (not Corpse, as
the guy who pretends to be Commander in Chief calls it)?
