I would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome Kathy and Rick Morgan to the "heart' of our club (as Frank puts it) - our Discussion Forum. It is great to have them here and see them getting further connected with our Z family. Thanks also to Frank to getting them up to speed on how to use the web-site.

Welcome Kathy and Rick!!!! I know that I speak for many people when I say it is GREAT to have you here!

Sincerely, Ross

WELCOME ABOARD, Rick & Kathy! It's great to have you as members and I'm sure many of our Members will want to ask questions about your Z carz.

By the way, we're still trying to locate George Panko, who first told you about Lucky 13 being advertiZed for sale, and Dave Nelson, who sold you #13 back in the 1970s. I have found a number for Nelson but nobody answers yet. Still searching for Panko's number.

Frank

Kathy and Rick,

It's great to have you aboard. Thanks for bringing some history into the club. Looking forward to getting to know you better at future events.

Hi Rick:
Who said, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks"? :-)

Good to see you here on the CTZCC Discussion Forum and thanks to Frank and the guys for getting you started into todays Virtual Z Car Community, as well as into the physical local club.

The good news is that today we can share a common interest with so many more people, but the bad news is that they are spread so far around the physical world, that we may never meet them in person.

I'm really glad that Ross and Frank talked me into making the trip so I could see #13 and meet you and Kathy in person. You are very lucky to have such a great group of people in your local club.

I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions.....

kind regards,
Carl B.

Ditto what Carl, Ross, Frank and all have already said.

It WAS terrific meeting you both last weekend, I greatly enjoyed getting to know you....and you cars. We must sit down at some point to chat more about early 240Z history. I would enjoy a repeat of the "round table" discussion with Carl, Jim, Frank and yourselves again!

Hope to see you next summer at ZCCR's weekend Z event.

Regards,
John

A lot of you got to meet Kathy and me at the Sept meeting, and I trust that by sharing a little of my life history, Z-wise, you were able to get somewhat acquainted with us. I wasn't quite a charter member among Z owners, but I did manage to get in on the ground floor. A few more of you became our newfound friendZ at the Show, and even more will become so at the October event and following.

My apologies for hiding out so well for so long~ I'm a pencil and paper guy. This computer stuff is way up here (can you see my hand waving, palm down, above my head?)

I'm not sure what else to say, so I'll just let the "signature block" below speak for itself for now, and then fill in the blanks as I answer your questions on this thread and in person.

All Z Best, Kathy & Rick

Kathy and Rick,

I'd like to echo the sentiments of the club members, it's great to have you and your historic 240's as members of the club! I look forward to hearing more of your great stories and viewing your memorabilia. Now, we need to get one of them on the road so you attend events behind the wheel of a Z!!

Phil

You guys are just too kind and encouraging for words! Kathy and I are humbled and grateful to be around a group of people like y'all. As I keep saying, How could we have cheated ourselves out of this for so long?

Phil is right, we have to use the winter constructively to get the cars operational. I'm afraid to just stick a battery in there and hit the highway. Sure, there are cars that have sat out in a field or woods for years that just started up and ran fine, but I'm not that lucky. Without at least going thru the mechanicals first, I can just see myself spinning a bearing, bending a valve stem, blowing seals..... and even if nothing like that happened, it wouldn't be my idea of a good time to get out there with no brakes....

Maybe Vinnie and Brian could each take a car and earn some $$$$, I'm pretty sure winter is Vinnie's slow season, and Brian and his wife have a baby on the way..... They could flip a coin to see who gets which car.....
Then, who gets the '70? Or the 160-Z?
