Hey everyone! My name is Steve. I've had my 89zxt for awhile and loved it while it ran. I spun and melted the #2 rod bearing about seven years ago. My wife had only been in it twice. Lately I've been working on rebuilding it. The block is rebuilt with stronger rod bolts and wiseco forged pistons. Working on heads at the moment but tight on money. Sport Z Mag. and now Nissan Sport Mag. have kept me focused on my goals. Feel dumb joining when its not running but hope you guys will push me. I'm looking at new cams. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks and glad to be a part of the club.

Seven years! Holy smokes.

Go for some Isky cams, they will need your cams and you will get them back with one of 3 standard grinds of your choice for under $200.

OR, call em up and they can accommodate custom cam grinds, within reason, for about $20-40 more.

OR they can make you custom billet cams to your specs for about $400.

Either way they are really awesome and the owner is a great guy to talk to as he will help you out with your setup.

Cheers.

Welcome, and it's ok if your not up and running yet, it's all about the Z passion. Spun a rod bearing aye, that's odd, usally it would be a main, but I guess anything can happen. I'm not 100% knowledgable about the Z31, but I do have some good NA heads, and some other parts as well, if I could help in anyway, and you won't pay alot either.

Seven years "ain't" bad, we just "drug" our three outa mothballs after pretty close to 30! They probably would still be gathering dust and cobwebs instead of miles if it wasn't for Chris and Frank!

Meantime, just come on out in the old family sedan or whatever until you get it running again. Yeah, we're into the cars, but the people is really where it's at!

Hi Steve:
89zxt?? Wow that's a rare bird! Post some pictures and the VIN - I'd be interested to see where it fell in the production series. Looks like Nissan only produced 210 300ZX T's between 06/88 and 02/89.

FWIW,
Carl B.

Thanks for all the support. Should i google for the Isky web site or is there a local place you would use. For the vin# its JN1CZ14S5KX210062. I believe its #62 out of 210. I believe it was produced 7/88 or 8/88. I really appreciate all the responses and look foward to going in Oct. . Also, I,m not happy about the 7 yrs. , It's the first rebuild I've done. It's depressing but I have done alot in the last year. Talk to ya soon. Thanks

Howdy, and welcome to the site.

Vincent Bedini, said he was an isky cam dealer. Look on the main homepage here, and there is a link to his shop.

Thanks Chad! Just to let everyone know I'm hooked on this site! I check everyday for new input. It's really put my mind back on track. Picking up as much overtime as I can without my wife killing me. Using money to catch up on bills then I will get back on the engine. Will try hard to make Oct. 17th meeting with the wife and my little girl. Lata!
