Justin,

Welcome to the Club. I'll look forward to sending those decals your ordered.

Go to the Cars parts for sale. Paul Mackin and Frank Thomas just rescued a 1984 Z31 as the CTZCC's parts cars. For donations to the club you might find some suseful parts.

Here's a qucik link to it for you....http://forums.ctzcc.com/viewtopic.php?t=4130

Looking forward to seeing you at the club events.

Welcome, and yes I have a few parts, I just went through the car today, and can tell you what's good and not. The slave cylinder is defiantly not good.

Hi Justin! Glad you made it onto the board, and that's a very clean looking Z31 you own (I bet you're proud ). There are many many Z31s in the CTZCC, so partz and advice shouldn't be a problem for you. Keith (our Events Director and MerchandiZe Coordinator) is right ~ the Club just rescued a 1984 Naturally-Aspirated T top coupe which was destined to be crushed because the owner had to move quickly and couldn't take the car along. It runs and there should be many partz on it which you might use. Our member Paul Mackin has the car and will be pulling it apart for useable items. Since you're now a registered Club member, you are eligible for cheap partz from it.

Also, our sponsoring dealership (NISSAN of Darien) offers us a generous 20% discount on new parts (except NISMO) for all registered Club members. Tires are 10% discount, but yours look pretty good from here.

I'm impressed that the body on your car looks so intact. The one we rescued was falling apart from the doors-back. These were really sleek cars and the drag coefficient on them was far less than the original S30 models.

Where did you find yours, and what long-range plans do you have for her?

 $250???!!! We pay more than that for a windshield or a single WHEEL!!!

Oh Dude ~ you're on your way to a HAPPY life! 8) Congratulationz! Keep the cost down ~ it will make the ride sweeter!

If you seriously want 350bhp, you'd better talk to our members Clive ("Evil-Z") or Clayton ("AirJockie"). They've both been there.
Frank

Justin, are you a bodyman or something? That's a lot of good work in less than 6 months.

Also, that "Z freak" is cool ~ that would make a really good screen name

Hey Justin,
Welcome to the club. You've done an amazing job with that car so far and should be very proud of the progress. Looking forward to meeting you (and your car) soon. Ross

You're off to a GREAT start! It does my heart good to meet the next and future generation of Z addicts! These cars need many more guyz your age to become involved with them, to ensure the breed stays active.

Last year the Club held our first Z Car Show; we only had about 145 members at that time, but we fielded about 70 carz. What struck me was that several younger guyz showed up driving first-generation 240Zs. They were daily driver carz, with the same problems we older guyz had with them back when we were their age. I got a rush watching the grey haired, lifetime Z fanatics coaching the 19 and 20 year old 240 owners about tricks they had learned on the cars back in the day ~ and the younger guyz were showing how they had overcome the same problems we had in the '70s. I imagined I was watching a torch being passed from one generation to the next.

I'm GLAD you got a banged-up Z car! For one thing, you learn a lot more about the car by putting it back together than you do by getting one already street-worthy. But second, you have saved that beautiful Z from being scrapped or parted out like so many of them after a crash.

Once you get your Z on the road and take your first exhilarating ride in it, and it surpriZes you with its surging willingness and nimble handling, you're gonna be hooked for life. Other cars might be faster, or better handling, or more convenient or modern, but as an overall package at an affordable price, NOTHING beats a Z car.

Someday, when you've gone grey and wear glasses and have your own kids in college, you're gonna visit a car show someplace and some 18 year old will pull in with an old Z car ~ and BOY! the stories you're gonna have for him!

Z ya on the road soon!
Frank
