Went for a few spins around the block tonight. Everything seems to be fine...

So after a couple of days on the pulleys, I started to get a squeal at 1300RPM. Got back under the car today, the alternator belt felt quite loose, tightened it up, and the squeal is gone!

Also found out where my slight oil drip is coming from, finally!

Haha, no problem!

I'm in Windsor, CT; about 25 minutes south of Springfield, MA.

Have any links I can check out?

My timing belt write up is done...at last.

Hopefully, it's "rookie-proof"

Quick updates:

My knock:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCmE75iQ ... e=youtu.be

Before coming back to school, I repaired the rusted battery tray, and the hatch lock, as well as replacing the rear carpet. I pulled the rear carpet from an 87, so it doesn't fit perfectly, but it gets the job done until I can find a better one.

Once I go home in a few months, I'll be installing a new speedo cable pinion gear, as that is where I am getting an oil leak from.

Before coming back to Boston for another semester of college, I took Randy on his biggest trip since I purchased him. We visited Foxborough, MA about 30 minutes from Framingham, where the previous owner purchased it off the showroom floor and kept it for the better part of 30 years.

This was a 200+ mile round trip, and I'm very pleased to say things couldn't have gone much better. Randy behaved, and I'm very thankful.

The picture below is of randy, my girlfriend and myself. Randy actually played a big role in how we started dating. When she asked me about how my spring break went, I explained that I had just purchased my very first car. We chatted, she told me about her mustang addictions and her passion for cars...the rest my friends, is history.

She drives a '95 Stang, but loves riding in Randy. :D

Zee, what did I tell you? Z owners always get the pretty girls. 8)

Girls love attention, and everybody STOPS and looks at a Z when it goes past. If the girl is riding in it, she gets that attention, too. She gets waved at a lot, too. It actually works.

If things get serious btwn you two further down the road, be sure to have her sign a PreNuptial Agreement. That way, you make sure she didn't just marry you to get her hands on a classic Z. 8)

Haha thanks Frank! Two car enthusiasts connected through a Z!

Anyway, I brought some of my garage life (or tried to) with me to school. Here's my dorm room:

Just a regular ol' printer. They print out at 11x17". I cut off the border then tape it all together.

Dad and Mom went on a Sunday cruise in Randy the 84-ZXT today...

Jealously level? Through the roof.
Satisfaction from hearing that everything went well? Through the roof. :D

Glad someone is enjoying Randy, even if I can't!

Add a measure of gratitude to your computations. It doesn't do Z cars a bit of good to sit unused. They rust up. Critters find homes in them. Parts and gaskets dry up. Things which should be kept wet, get dry. Brake rotors develop surface rust. Electrical connections with no current flowing thru them, corrode. Without gasoline sloshing around inside, the fuel tank walls start to rust up. The tires begin to develop flat spots.

Your folks are exerciZing your car for you.

Also, they are two more pairs of ears which can tell if something doesn't sound quite right. Dad can feel stuff happening thru the wheel which seemed normal to you. Mom might hear that high-pitched noise you shop-deaf guys can't hear.

Be thankful they are testing your Z for you.

And your mom is getting smiles and waves, and she thinks it's because she's so pretty.
