That will probably boost the horsepower by 5% and make it 7mph faster.

It will definitely sound nice and gnarly but I don't think that Z rocket ship will notice any additional boost to the thrusters. :D LOL. "POW ZOOM"

Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!

I have been corresponding with the original owner of my 96 300zxTT via e-mail. On a whim I sent an email to the address on one of the receipts I had from the shop records for the car. Turns out that he rarely drove the car and just spent lots of $$ on dressing it up and speeding it up.

This is his recent reply:
"Dear Karl,
After I had it for a couple of years, I added on a Stillen body kit, light weight fly wheel, chip upgrade, blow off valves, and other simple engine bolt-ons . Then I put in a roll cage , racing seats and a gauge package. Lastly I added a nice Alpine stereo upgrade. Only used the car as a weekend joyride car , spring to fall. Garaged in heated storage during the winters. A few years before I sold it got ahead of myself by purchasing a radiator , new blow off valves, chromed engine parts and red powdered coated valve covers and a whole set of updated gauges. Then I bought a house and suddenly didn't have the extra funds to finish it.FYI still have a ton of the parts. As far as what's missing, the friend that I sold it to said he put it back to original ? Maybe after he purchased it he stripped it back down , sold what he could and then resold it?"

I had decided he had probably raced it so it was a relief to hear he did not.

That begs the question, "where are all those spare parts, now"?
If they are available to you, they would enhance the value of your rocketship even if you don't apply them.
But I agree with Howie; you probably wouldn't be able to notice any difference those parts made to the acceleration. Once you're pinned to the seat and your vision goes blurry, there's little more they can show you.

Sheldon,
Once again thanks for your reply.
When I bought the car it had been registered in Mass for only a brief time before the person I bought it from acquired it.
I want to say he was from Ludlow for some reason.
When I got it as I said it had lost or had removed many of the options you had installed.
I know the seller I bought it from removed the extra amps and sub woofer set up so what is left of the stereo is not remarkable at all.
I removed the Roll cage/ cover and racing harness as they were not what I wanted in the interior. I also replace the stylized rear lights with JDM original so it looks like stock from the back. I think the racing seats are also gone as what is in it now look stock to me. I have recently purchased a new Sony stereo to try and upgrade the system to blue tooth hands free phone capability. Seems as though all of the performance upgrades are intact with the blow off valves and the turbo controller still present along with the top of the line radar detector. Funny thing with the radar detector is that with new cars using all sorts of electronics for staying in your lane and regulating distance between cars the tone sounds pretty much non-stop on the highway. I had the rear spoiler removed and fixed the pad under it and the entire area repainted. It was all white in that area because of the way they fixed the padding at one point.
I might be interested in some of your upgrade parts if you want to get rid of them. Just make a list and let me know.
For me it is also a "Sunday" car and it is kept in a climate controlled garage all the time. It is a joy to drive and sticks to the road like it was glued down.
Funny how life gets in the way and we do things like buy homes and have families. I did the same thing for many years and now have the ability to own and enjoy your old car.

Karl"

I haven't been able to drive far but I finally got around to having a new stereo installed on the 300 zx.

Now I have blue tooth and everything in the car.

So I'm a few years late to this thread but I gotta say you have some nice toys Karl!

I enjoyed the body and paint work done on the 280z to make it like your 260z color. Very tasteful and looks like a high end job. Your 300zxtt is sweet too, they are a blast. A friend of mine has one that develops 450hp with JWT upgrades and whatever has been done.....it flies. And they handle very well too.
