Folks, what do you think about a non-scheduled meeting on April 3rd or 4th? I will be in CT at this time. Would be a pleasure!

Fantastic idea, Bro!--it would be great to see you and Laura again.
Will you be driving to here from home for the event?-- LOL LOL
Lots of people would love to see that GORGEOUS trophy taker/
/award winner of yours, since she has been re-done......

:? :? Hmmm...could this Z possibly be your "trophy wife?" :lol: :lol:

Oh I would. It's only a 400 mls drive (on streets). Unfortunately there is that ocean that slow things down. Q :shock:

The Z season can start: new brake pads, tank hose replaced, new oil. Z runs perfectly. This weekend Max and I will try to get a trophy at the GTÜ classic cruise, a classic car rallye;)

Some more happy news from our esteemed member in Germany Thorsten Link, who bought his 240Z HLS30-16506 from an American seller here in 2009 with the help of our member Carl Beck, and restored it completely there in Germany;

He entered it into Schloss Schwetzingen (near Heidelberg), one of Germany's toughest annual Concourse d'Elegance competitions...and won Best of Show in his class!
From his iPhone at the scene, he says:

* * * * * * * * *
"Datsun 240 z Best of Show class F (1961-1970) at the Concours d'elegance Schwetzingen, one of the most high quality classic car shows in Germany. Unbelievable! Look at that ranking:
1. Datsun 240 Z
2. Aston Martin DB6
3. Iso Grifo 7 ltr.

There were more than 30 competitors in that category: Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes Pagoda etc.

Isn't that great?"
* * * * * * * * *

YES, Thor ! That's wonderful!! Your beautiful 240Z deserves such honors. We are all proud that your car took our CTZCC window decal into Germanys highest Concours circles, too!

Congratulations to Our Man in Germany! Flying the CTZCC colors internationally!

Frank T

A second journey is going to start. Got another Datsun, a 200SX, 1978.
Will pick it up (again) in the Netherlands on wednesday.

The 200SX was very popular here in the states. I even bought one for my girlfriend. But they were competitive on the track, as well as reliable on the road.

The 100hp engine could be comfortably flexed to 200hp, which made the light little car a real screamer on the road courses. Vinny Bedini owned a 200sx race car for years until Adam Corrolla bought it from him. Corrolla races that car today.

It won't be long before you must buy a large barn, Thor!
