Congratulations and THANK YOU to Al Babik, who, at 3:05 today, entered this Club's 28,000th Post! :D

For those of you who are new-joins, here's why this is important:

We like to keep track of each 1,000 new Posts in the CTZCC Website Discussion Forums. Other Z discussion websites which have been in existence much longer than we have, can boast many thousands more Posts than we can. They also have many more members than we have. Mainly, that's because they are internet clubs. They have members from every state, who never meet each other or attend an event together.

But the CTZCC is an actual Club. We're predominantly from CT, and because this is such a tiny state, we get to meet each other frequently. We hold monthly meetings, annual events, and weekend get-togethers. As I like to say, "Most of us know most of us". We know each other by face, and know each others' carz. Heck, most of us have helped work on most of our carz!

So each 1,000th Post represents the continuation of the thriving interest and brotherhood among our members. We usually generate another 1,000 posts every 3-5wks. This 28,000th Post was entered just 32 days after our 27,000th Post, so that's dead-on within our normal timing. Our tiny website generally receives btwn 45,000 and 60,000 hits each month, making it one of the most-used Z websites on the internet.

I think Al's landmark entry is a good enough reaZon to share some free entertainment. For you recent joins, this can be a quick history lesson about how the CTZCC has grown. For you long-term members, it can be a funny stroll down Memory Lane. 8)

Here, for your entertainment and amuZement, is Ross' 2008 Annual Report. Pay attention to the facts and figures he quotes, from fewer than three years ago. Know that the Club was just finishing its first official year together. Compare those starting figures with today's staggering numbers! :lol:

Thanks again, Big Al, for keeping the CTZCC ball rolling. You are a constant contributor of fun and inspiration to this great Club, and we are proud to have you and Lil Red in our circle!

Frank T

For comparison, current stats are:

550 registered members (370 in CT);
22 Friends of the Club (unregistered);
60 regular contributors (unregistered);
626 individual carZ ( :shock:);
215 Carz shown in Member Rides;
50,000+ monthly website hits, average!

Not a bad start; this Club has the POTENTIAL for success. :)

I say that because I see 82 UNREGISTERED people in the above
recap, who though they have enthusiasm for, or at least interest
in Z Cars (which is the criterion for membership), must find some
reason for not actually JOINING. :?

Maybe the cost of the annual dues is too high? :roll:
