Location: Darien, CT
Upcoming Meeting: Our next club meeting will be held next Wednesday at 7:00pm at Middletown Nissan (1153 Newfield Street - Rte 3, Middletown, CT 06457). This is the same location as last year's car show and Dave Calebrese (owner) always goes above and beyond with regard to hosting us. As usual, food and drinks will be provided. Bring your Z, a friend and a smile! You can check out Middletown Nissan at http://www.middletownnissan.com.

Last Club Meeting: Last month's meeting was held at Executive Nissan in North Haven. We had a great turn out of over 40 people / cars and a very gracious host who served a hot buffet of food and raffled off some Nissan goodies. Those that attended had an opportunity to hear (and see) an excellent overview of Autocross presented by Bryan Little. Pictures, compliments of Phil Parent at:

Upcoming Events:
Our annual show will be held again this year at Middletown Nissan on July 17th (rain date of July 18th). THIS IS A DATE CHANGE FROM WHAT WAS PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED. This was a SMASHING success last year with more than 70 cars, hundreds of people, and perfect weather. Local radio DJs broadcast off the lot, many Z dignitaries flew (or drove!) in from around the country, Marilyn's Dancing Dogs fed us until we couldn't waddle, and Rick and Kathy Morgan took BEST OF SHOW by unveiling Lucky #13, against some incredible competition! The staff and crew at Middletown Nissan treated us like kings and were hands-on in every phase of our day. Without exception, everyone had a good time. More details of this year's show are available at: http://forums.ctzcc.com/viewtopic.php?t=5001. Registration forms will be available shortly.

The Z Association of New York and the Saratoga Automobile Museum are sponsoring this year's Northeast Z Adventure from June 25th to 27th. This event takes place at the Saratoga Automobile Museum, 100 Avenue of the Pines, Saratoga Springs, New York. Show will be People’s Choice with trophies awarded in ten classes plus "Best of Show". Registration fee is $25.00 (day of show is $30.00). Register on line through www.saratogaautomuseum.com. Admission to the Auto Museum is included with registration. Tee shirts to the first 30 entrants. Lunch will be available at a reasonable cost. Hotel will be the Ramada Inn, Glens Falls (Actually in Queensbury). For further information contact Jeff Fox at 70240z@ny.rr.com.

East Coast Z Nationals: On May 22nd six CTZCC members attended the first East Coast Z Nationals as part of the Import Kit Nationals at the Carlisle, PA Fairgrounds. The event was a tremendous success with over 70 cars from more than ten clubs represented. It included a Peoples Choice car show on Saturday and a track event on Sunday at the Quarter Ace Drag way in Mount Holly Springs, PA. Walking the grounds viewing thousands of other import cars was an added bonus.

CTZCC Frames: Looking for the perfect Father's Day gift to suggest to your spouse or kids this year? How about a custom wood frame for your Z with the CTZCC logo and engraveable brass plaque? These frames are made possible by our partnership with Church Hill Classics and a portion of all proceeds go to the club to fund future club events. Several layout options are available. To view and buy frames please go to: http://www.diplomaframe.com/associations/Czcc/ From personal experience I can tell you that you will be very satisfied with this product.

Club Schedule: We have a packed schedule of meetings and events this year, which can be viewed at http://www.ctzcc.com/schedule.html. Meeting dates are always the second Wednesday of the month. We are looking forward to our third annual car show, our third outing at Lime Rock Park with Bob Sharp and our fifth Fall Outing in October! We have tried our best to get the major events of other regional Z clubs on the schedule as well - so please participate in as many of those that you can. Get some or all of these dates on your calendar before the spouse fills them with weddings and funerals of relatives you barely know!

In Memory: And last, but certainly not least, we spent much of May remembering our dear friend and member Colin Foote, who was tragically killed by a motorist on May 16th. Many of you have left condolences and expressions of sympathy for his Father Robin and other family members at http://forums.ctzcc.com/viewtopic.php?t=4970. I encourage everyone to continue to keep this thread active to support the Foote family at this difficult time. Fittingly, we have chosen Colin's 240Z as our member ride of the Month for June and you can view his album at http://www.ctzcc.com/cgi-bin/album.pl?album=colin.foote. A groundswell of support has brought the state of RI closer to enacting legislation to toughen laws for repeat driving offenders and keep them off the roads and highways of RI. In an effort to lobby for passage of what may become known as "Colin's Law", the Footes have testified before the House Judiciary Committee to encourage passage of the law (see link below) http://www2.turnto10.com/jar/news/local ... ill/37524/.

Thanks go to Mike Tubiak and Joe Plescia for creating the memorial for Colin which is featured on our home page and will be displayed at future CTZCC events.

That's all for now. Hope to see you next week. Ross
