I would love to see 200 albums on the Member Rides board by our October 17th Fall Outing, which marks the official end of our 2009 season. We currently have 156 albums on our board, which is a great start. But, we have over 300 club members and that number continues to climb! So almost half of you are holding out on us!

So if you don't already have photos out there why are you hiding them? We want to see your Z regardless of what shape you feel it is in!

Post them now - you can always delete and replace them later.

To encourage participation, we will be raffling off a custom wood frame for your Z as pictured below to one lucky poster of photos.

Rules:
You must upload two or more photos by 10/10/09
Photos must be of a Datsun or Nissan vehicle
You must be present at the Fall Outing to win
Members that have already uploaded photos will automatically be entered

If you have never obtained a user / id and password for the Member Rides section, please contact our webmaster as webmaster@ctzcc.com and he will issue you one. Then upload away!

Thanks, Ross

Well Ross, we're making some progress on this! This morning I counted 160 entries in the Member Rides gallery. A week ago that would have represented just over half our Membership population, but during the Car Show and the week after, we have added a STACK of new members!

I just KNOW we can make your goal of 200 entires by 10Oct. (CAN'T WE, GANG?)

Sometimes the Membership just needs a little encouragement to get it together and form a team, or some enthusiastic presence within their midst, directing them toward a new goal.

I'll go get my whip........

In the meantime, you members who haven't yet entered your carz in the Member Rides gallery, PLEASE do that now! I'll be right back to help encourage y'all to hurry.

Now where did I leave that..........?

Yo Ross! You too, Frank!

I would love to add my 2 cents, I mean 2 Z's, to the Member Rides board, but I am so technically deficient it's pathetic. I thought I was doing so well learning how to turn this dadgum thing on/off!

But there must be about a gazillion pictures of #13 and #171 out there if someone could "pinch hit" for me..... I dunno how it's done, but maybe a teamwork thing with several contributors, and I could do the narrative.....

Phil! Could you pleaze forward Jim Hagani a good picture of the Members ganged around cars #13 and #171? Jim could maybe use that to open a MEMBER RIDES account for Rick & Kathy, so Rick could make his comments there.

We REALLY need to include these two cars in our gallery! :D

Thanks!
Frank

Ross, Don't you think it's a bit unfair to require a member to be in attendance to win the raffle.

Hi Dan,

Well I can certainly see your point of view. We value out of town members as much as the locals folks. We absolutely love to see the out of towners participate on the Discussion Forum and in person when they are able to come to our events. We had several out of towners attend last month's show and I think they will agree that they were treated like special guests.

My goals for this raffle were two fold: a) to encourage people to upload pictures and b) to incent people to come to the outing. Also, I think most people that lose a raffle at least like to see someone else win it. I think it is important from a perception point of view that they know that the raffle was conducted fairly and seeing someone actually walking away with the prize helps that perception.

All that being said, I do see your point and maybe in the future we can do something similar that includes those that cannot be present. But for now I'd like to keep the rules as they are.

Sincerely, Ross

PS - If you are ever out this way, we would love to host you at one of our meetings or events!

Ross, I didn't mean to sound like sour grapes, as i certainly like to see other people win the rafflle. I have talked to Frank about this in the past, and am wondering if you have ever thought about moving the picnic to say mid summer. As i have explained to Frank, i coach High School football, so from mid August, through October, i simply can't get away.

I plan to come to some CTZCC event next summer, hopefully driving # 1651.

My 3 bay 24'x36' shop is under construction as we speak. i plan on putting a 2 post hoist in the middle bay, no more crawling under rigs for me. I plan on writing an article about " How To Plan and Build a Shop".

Look for my article in the general discussion form.

Dan,
No problem. Constructive input from club members is what keeps us improving! We really have three "big" events each season, any one of which stand on their own - I'm not even sure that people would clearly vote for one of them as the best. We have the awesome day at Lime Rock raceway each year with Bob Sharp (including laps on the track), we have our annual Z show which has been a great success and then we have the Fall Outing. This year they took place in July, September and October respectively. The show was moved to September vs. earlier in the season because of delays in getting a sponsor. Next year, we may hold it earlier in the season. I really don't want to move our "Fall Outing", which is now a club tradition to the summer months. Instead I suggest that you try to attend one of our other two events, which I'm sure would be equally as interesting and fun.

Sincerely, Ross

Rick, I'm sorry ~ I thought I asked our Webmaster Jimmy Hagani to contact you about this long ago.

But I do remember giving you these instructions when I wrote you a Welcome letter ~ you should contact Jim (Webmaster@CTZCC.Com) by email and ask him to issue you a password for the Member Rides gallery. That will allow you to load as many pictures of your cars as you want. If you tell Jimmy you want to show four carz (your three 240Zs and your 510), he can open you four accounts (all free), one for each car. You can post many pictures of each car in each account.

Contact me directly if you Can't Get No Satisfaction.
