To our Membership:

There is no doubt in my tiny mind that we have the BEST Z Car Club this side of Japan. Our Membership growth and Website traffic speak loudly to that. I think we have the friendliest members, coolest Z cars, best Website and most-supportive spouses.

We also have the best sponsors.

Sponsors help keep our Club afloat. In addition to lending their good names to our good Club as a matter of endorsement, they have also been known to donate time, space, equipment or cash to help us conduct Club events. Additionally, some of our sponsors offer deep discounts to CTZCC members when you bring your business to them.

In return, we are expected to spread that most-valuable of all advertiZing methods, the Word of Mouth personal endorsement; that's the good name of our good Club, endorsing the good name of our good sponsors.

Our sponsors help keep this Club functional. We, in turn, should help support our sponsors whenever we can. Maybe you live too far across the state to support a certain sponsor all the time, but when the opportunity ariZes you should certainly make the effort to use them. An appropriate entry in our VENDORS RAVES AND GRIPES Forum is welcome too, so the word gets around about how your experience went.

Of course, when representing the CT Z Car Club in any fashion (especially when visiting one of our great sponsors and using the Club discount), each of us is expected to put our best foot forward and act like ladies and gentlemen. We are expected to always represent our Club with the highest standards of courtesy and polite behavior. To behave otherwiZe might give the impression we are a 'gang' instead of a Club.

Finally, always bear in mind that our sponsors are 'businesses', not 'charities'. They exist to make some profit, so they can return tomorrow and open again for business and pay their own bills. If you get even a slight discount from them because of your Club membership, PLEASE be generous with your gratitude. That keeps them on our side and maintains good will in both directions.

There were a lot of good times and laughter last year which came directly from the open hands of our sponsors. Your smile and a handshake go a long way toward ensuring they continue to stand beside us this year and next.

You can view our list of sponsors in the left margin of our Homepage. Thanks in advance for supporting those who support us!

Z ya soon ~

Great post. Just to add to Frank's comments, these sponsors have each contributed something to the club and in some cases (Nissan Darien) A LOT to the club. In a nutshell, all we are asking is 1) IF you find yourself in the market for something they sell, give them a shot at your business and 2) whether you decide to purchase from them or not, be appreciative of and respectful to them. If you state you are with the CTZCC to obtain a discount YOUR REPRESENT THE CLUB. It only takes one negative experience to significantly damage one of these important relationships.

Thanks, Ross

Nice job, Ross and Frank!!

As a Business Administration guy, I really understand, appreciate, and support everything you said above. But it doesn't take an MBA to understand that the best type of business is repeat business and word-of-mouth advertising (referrals), because those are earned by consistently providing VALUE to the client. And I define VALUE as the quantity and/or quality received for the dollar spent, along with the professionalism of the provider. It's all in the perception of the recipient, that is, the customer.

If the client recognizes that he/she has received exceptional VALUE and is not a total ingrate, it is virtually axiomatic that that client will mention his/her positive experience to others as situations arise.

Indeed there are some businesses which don't even have a line item for advertising in their budget, simply because it would be an unnecessary expense. It has already been paid for by the VALUE and the customer relations effort provided in the past, and will be extended into the future as repeat and referral business multiplies exponentially.
