Last Club Meeting: Our last club meeting was a blast! We had roughly 40 attendees who came from all over the Northeast. Bob Sharp talked about plans for his new race car, Bob Doiron and Liam Dwyer gave an exciting presentation on Autocross and their organization CART, people ate pizza and lots of discussions centered on the four cars pulled inside the garage downstairs - Bob's GTR, Oz's brand-new 370Z, Liam's 350 NISMO and my 350 GT-33. It was great to be able to view the new 370 side by side with the 350 to understand the subtle differences. Thanks again go to Andy Ward, Director of Younglife for allowing us to use his facility!

Next Club Meeting: Our next club meeting will be held on Wednesday May 13th at 7:00pm at a location to be determined shortly (will e-mail you once confirmed). As you may be aware, we are continuing our efforts to have club meeetings throughout Connecticut this year. If you know of a great location for a future meeting in your neck of the woods, please e-mail me.

Past Month Events:

UConn Car Show: On Sunday, April 21st, eight CTZCC members attended the UConn car club's annual show in Storrs CT. There were about 700 cars in attendance with no shortage of interesting people and rides to look at. It's a good thing we arrived early because if not, we would have been run off the road by the hundreds of Tuner cars that continuously arrived for several hours. Everyone in our club felt very old but it was a really fun and interesting event.

Malcolm Pray's Garage:
On Saturday April 25th several of us had the privilege to tour Malcolm Pray's personal collection of over 60 historically significant automobiles in Bedford, NY. Malcolm is extremely well known on the vintage car show circuit and has won many awards for his outstanding automobiles.

CTZCC 2nd Annual Car Show: Due to a scheduling conflict, we have moved the date of our annual car show to Saturday July 11th with a rain date of Sunday, July 12th. Please reserve the date on your calendars!

Bob Sharp Lime Rock Outing: One of the most enjoyable events of last year is now confirmed for Saturday July 25th at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville CT (this is a new date). I attended this event last year and had a smile on my face the entire ride home. Bob will give a "mock' driving class as if you were about to head out to do battle on the racetrack. He will tell you what to do, what not to do and everything in between. While it's not guaranteed, Bob may be able to get us out for Parade Laps mid-day as he did last year. The Ferarri club will have the track on this day so there should be some good viewing of some very expensive vintage cars. This is a very casual laid back day of fun and is perfect for spouses. Attendees will not race on the track. If I remember correctly, Bob did pass me pretty fast on the way home last year though.

New Z Club:
Clive Bogle, one of our NYC-based members has recently started a new Z club in New York. Check them out at www.nyzcc.com. Congratulations Clive! On behalf of the CTZCC, we wish you great success in this endeavor and look forward to some joint events.

Club Meeting Topics / Presenters: We are always looking for topics to be discussed at our monthly club meetings, which occur on the second Wednesday of each month from March through September. Typically we have two different topics / presentations per meeting. Have you always wanted to share your unique knowledge of the Z with a larger audience? Maybe you have knowledge of Z history, specific models, restoration, modifications or other topics that club members would be interested in. If so, please send me an e-mail so we can get you on the calendar. Don't be shy - it's fun!

Hope to see you at our upcoming meeting on May 13th!

Sincerely, Ross
