Here is information on the track event being planned by CART:

The quick details:

Friday, March 29, 2008
New Jersey Motorsports Park,
Millville, NJ
Price $270 per driver.

Event format:

Four one hour practice sessions capped with a time trial competition (and additional open track) during the 5th hour. They are sharing the venue that day with a few cars from the Aston Martin club (who will occupy the track during the remaining 4 hours).

CART requires a roll bar only if a car (a) can no longer be registered under CT law (gutted, no headlights, plexi windows, etc) or (b) runs in a modified class (modifieds are usually reserved for flat out race prepared cars or turbo's that have turbo control computers installed). A car that is both a modified class competitor and cannot be registered requires a full cage (at that point it is a true race car and should be equipped as such). Modified classes are defined per the SCCA GCR.

Hotels should be available for between $60 and $99 a night.

More details / flyer to come!

Man, my helmet is 45 yrs old and looks like it belonged to Graham Hill.

Guess it's time to buy a new one.

Anyone know a good source?

Frank

To register the best way is to go to the www.cartct.com web site. From there scroll down the left hand options until you find the registration tab under Track Days. Click that tab and you can register. You can copy the form into a word document then fill it out and email to their club registrar: Jay Bode at:

JOERG.BODE@SNET.NET

Payment can be made online via PayPal or you can send a check to Jay at the address provided on the reg form.

Hi guys,
I just signed on to your forum to stay in touch.
For all the Z owners out there if you are not part of this group join now.
For all the members, as an invited guest at your last meeting I was very impressed with the structure of your club, presentation and it's officers. The question regarding helmets and where to get them, we have a member of our club that is a rep for HJC helmets.
John Williamson he can be contacted at neonjohn@earthlink.net or phone 203-268-8086. John lives in Trumbull and is a teriffic resourse.
If anyone has any questions regarding our club please feel free to contact me at mcguiver3@sbcglobal.net

Thanks, Bob Doiron
President of CART
