It's been 12 hours since I first learned of this and I'm still at a loss for words. Tommy and his family will be missed in many ways. What a tragedy. My heart felt condolences go out to their family and friends, especially to Tom Jr.

This is horrible news. I just don't know what to say - it seems like Tommy and his family have made an impact on everyone who knew them, and will be surely missed by all.

Standing by for further word about the funeral arrangements. I can picture this as a mass event ~ Tommy's department, their kids' school, Donna's friends and church, local police honor guards, and maybe three Z clubs. I want to go if we get the word in time.

I can't conceive the thought of he and his family not with us. He was truly a great person and always enjoyed seeing him. This loss will be hard to accept. My condolences to all who knew him.

Everybody who knew Sully loved him. He was open, honest, direct, friendly....just a big happy Irish guy who was always quick with a laugh. And he seemed to try to help everyone he met with SOMEthing. He was always doing some little thing to make sure your life was a bit better.

The first day I met him, at Clive's great NYZCC picnic a few hundred years ago, Sully went out of his way to guide us CTZCC "foreigners" out of the park and back onto the highway entrance. He didn't have to do that, and most New Yawkers wouldn't have ~ but that was just Tommy Sullivan. Always, always trying to help others.

Everyone who knew him has similar stories.

I can't recall which event it was, where I got to sit in the shade for about 20 minutes and talk with Donna his wife. She told me hilarious stories about Tom and really opened my eyes to how much of a "do gooder" he really was. The man's life was FOCUSED on helping others.

It figures that his final act would be an attempt to rescue others. That's my idea of a hero.

Thank you to everyone who has had great things to say about Tommy and his family.

At this time I am asking everyone who has had a photo of Tommy and his family at any of the events to please email them to me CLIVE.BOGLE@GMAIL.COM - as you can imagine they have lost everything and we are just trying to give the family back as much as we can.

Also, we plan to attend the funeral with our Z cars to show support from NYZCC and would love if CTZCC can do the same. There will be a gathering after for lunch, so please come on out if you can.

This link is provided by our member Scott at RDZ. He is overcome, as are most of us. He and Tommy spent a lot of time together at our meetings and events. Scotty's taking this pretty hard.

Hang in there, Scotty. We're all suffering over this.

Frank

Weather for Carmel NY on Saturday 05May is forecast as high 60s with a 30% chance of rain during the day. I intend to chance it and try to meet the other Zs. That's what I would want y'all to do for my funeral. Not too sure how close we can park with as many people as are sure to attend, but a solid Z presence should make a love and loyalty statement about how we feel for Tommy and his family. I will also try to get to one of the wakes this week.

Frank

Rain will not keep my Z away. This is one of those times that a Z can stand to shed tears of rain.

I've only known Tommy for a year or two, and have probably seen him a dozen times in that span, but even that was enough for me to get to know and love him, meet most of his family, and share some great experiences with him. I just saw him a month ago at the Lime Rock trackday where he was tearing around in his Miata with a smile on his face.

Eating in Carmel with the NYZCC and his family it was clear that he was the heart of the town and loved by all. I can't imagine our BBQ's or meets without him and his family.

I'll see you all Saturday morning.

-Will
