Anyone in the Hartford area able to call the seller:

http://newlondon.craigslist.org/pts/3507653151.html

Carl 860-301-4455

and pick up the item and I can pay them for the item and time. He isn't really willing to ship and doesn't have paypal.

Thanks!

Is anyone closer to this guy than mid-state? I want to help but have a week full of appointments, all in the wrong direction.

I'll cancel one if necessary.......?

I spoke with Carl just now, mentioned your name, and he agrees to hold the trim until I can get up there later this week. He also will throw in some other Z partz for us. I guess he bought a Z for his wife but she doesn't like it (??? :? ).

I offered to have a talk with her about that.

So I got this, Clive, but it will have to wait until later this week. And he's way up in East Haddam, not Hartford.

Frank

Thanks Frank, I believe he was at a bar when I spoke to him so he wasn't too clear.....

Frank let me know what day you will be going up. I am trying to pick up a car this Wed if I don't get it, I will def need that part from him. I am covering parts/time/gas so just keep in touch with me.

To update, I will need to make a trip to the bodyshop soon for new pics and see what is needed.

Thanks guys!

OK Clive, I stopped off and met Carl (a really nice guy, and a '71 240Z owner) and bought this new-in-the-box window stainless trim today.

We'll make arrangements how to transfer it to you ~ I'm sure it wouldn't survive mailing or shipping.

Carl is a nice guy, with lots of kids, and a nearly perfect 1971 240Z. He let me take some pictures of it, which I'll post on here in the near future. He also donated a pair of front Chapman struts for 240Zs. I'd really like to zee him get involved with the Club.

This was a really wonderful thing for you to do, Frank....

On behalf of the club, thank you!

It was an honor.

We all miss Sully. We all wish for some way to express that.

Coming up on the first-year anniversary of the fire. I drove thru there a few weeks ago but couldn't remember Tommy's old address, and didn't have anyone's phone number with me to call and ask.

I suppose anyone in town could have given me the address, but somehow it didn't feel right asking about it. After hunting around for about an hour I left. I saw many landmarks I remember from the wake, but couldn't find my way back to Tommy's old neighborhood.

Anybody planning on visiting there this weekend?

Frank
