Ooh, Bill ~ I can't respond to this yet. :( I had hoped for more time. I need time to digest this. You'll be in my constant thoughts.

Bill,
I am so sorry to hear this update but I am also a bit relieved that the end to her suffering may be in sight. I'm sure that the two of you have been through an indescribable ordeal with this illness. My thoughts are with Shelley that she move on peacefully, and with you that you find the strength to be by her side and recover from what will certainly be a devasting loss.

We are with you my friend.

Sincerely, Ross

Hi Bill, Kathy writing this time.
Rick just showed me the last few posts, and we are both devastated by
this news of Shelly. We are so sorry. Rick and Kathy

Bill, I got Kathy to come to the computer to read it for herself. Up till
now I had been reading to her the various posts about Shelly, and we
had been praying for a miraculous recovery. But it appears that God
has other plans, much to our chagrin. This is awful news and I would
be a lot less uneasy if I were able to be right there with you on the
Western edge of NE. But I will do my best to continue to be your close
friend and confidante, even if at a 2000 mile distance. Remember, our
home phone is (203) 484-7850; you can call at ANY time you need to.
remjr12241@gmail.com will also work, but phone would be better.

Bill, I suppose what I'm about to say could be construed as self-serving,
since I have cried more in my life for the 3 or more months following
Kathy's first stroke in Aug 2006 (I overheard the doctors saying she
wasn't going to make it), and also for the past few months after her
latest episode, than the cumulative time of my whole life before then.
But I have heard it said, "IT TAKES A REAL MAN TO CRY." As a former
Paratrooper, Ranger, and martial arts guy, I would have had a hard time
believing that prior to then. But I fully believe that now, because:

If you or I had a heart of stone; if you or I were such a stoic as to have
no feelings, much less deep feelings; if you or I were unwilling or unable
to care and love intensely, then I guess you and I would never cry. If
you or I never really loved our wives "as Christ loved the Church" (Eph.
5:25), then I suppose that nothing could ever reduce us to tears. And if
we, as friends and brothers and sisters in such a close organization as
CTZCC, couldn't bring ourselves to cry both for and with another in
exceedingly difficult circumstances, then I fear that there is something
dreadfully wrong with us.

So I commend you, my Brother, first for being able to put to use a
wonderful emotion which God has given us to use. And second, for being
a big enough man to share the fact that you love your wife enough to let
that emotion pour out on those occasions when you are so overcome.

Sharing your burdens, and the burdens of Amanda and Taylor as well,
we wish you all Z best. Kathy & Rick (both of us writing this time)

It is with a completly broken heart that I feel the need to let you guys know that my beautiful, wonderful Shelly left us on her journey to heaven at 11:30 last night. She fought a valiant fight against cancer but in the end the cancer won. She is in a better place She passed away peacefully in her sleep with me, Amanda and Taylor holding her hands. Her only brother, her parents and several very dear freinds were present also I fullfilled a promise I made to her and read all of the books of psalms, proverbs and Isaiah aloud to her in the hours before she left It took me 6 1/2 hours non stop to get through it but it was the last thing she wanted. She was unconsious for the last 36 hours.
The world lost a shining star Saturday night but Heaven gained a beautiful angel.
Thank you so much for all the prayers and kindness.
I especially want to publically Thank Rick and Kathy Morgan for being the great friends and wonderful people they are.God Bless you.

Bill, words can't mend what you're feeling right now. Only time will, somewhat. My deepest and most sincere condolences to you, your family, and Shelly's friends there.

The Bible promises you'll see her again. She'll be the perfect, healthy, happy girl you first married. I want that for you and your family. God never intended for us to die ~ that was Satan's device. When he is defeated, we'll see the Resurrection and sickness and evil and death will be no more. That's promised.

Numbers of our members have lost loved ones during our short acquaintances. Some we've known, others we never met. Some were taken quickly and unexpectedly ~ but we've watched silently from here as Shelly fought her battle. We all felt an active part of that struggle.

We'll have to wait for you to introduce us to her.

God be with you and your family during this time, and always.

Frank
