Robin, good to hear this law be passed. For all that never knew him, his name will live on. For those that knew him well, or just met him once, his spirit will forever live with us. This still brings tears to my eyes as I write this, we had a good time just to caravan to Lime Rock, and our few conversations were bliss, I still have his e-mails from that day and will forever keep them, for it is my only link to a great person I will never get to know personaly, but only from the words of those who knew him well. God Bless Robin, Family, & Friends. I will be there Saturday, and Friday if that is an invite for club members. If there is anything I can help out with I'd be happy to. God be with You.

Paul,

Colin very much enjoyed meeting and speaking with you. I'll never forget when we reached out to you last spring/summer when we first rolled the 70' red car out of the garage, after a year-long engine compartment restoration. You will likely remember we had starting problems and you tried your best to walk us through some possible solutions. Turned out the timing was way off.

You are very, very much invited, along with other Memorial Cruise & Air Show Tribute Z Car participants to join us Friday afternoon and evening. Also, I very much want to welcome you to stay at one of our Guest Houses in Narragansett so you won't have to drive back & forth fom Middletown if you want (I know how Rhode Islanders view distances - some people think going to the basement to do their laundry is a "pilgrimage").

The Friday event is for our Club guyZ and any other Z participant - even those who just want to drop by with their car for the Cook-out Friday evening
.

If you are available Friday afternoon to help with the set-up that would be great also. Just dont forget to officially register by emailing to me the following information:

Name
Address
Cell Phone
Z Car Model, Year, Color
Registration Tag # & State
Time & Date of Arrival in Narragansett, RI
Accommodations Needed: Yes No Number of people: _____
Stay Until End of Airshow (5 PM): Yes No

Registration requests must be sent to: Farnum Brown (globeaero@aol.com) with a "CC:" to robin.raf@gmail.com (Very Important this address is copied)

Thanks again Paul and we look forward to seeing you at the events,

Robin Foote

Thank You, Pilgrimage, :lol: Yes, that's a R.I thing, especially the Island I live on, and there are people that have never set foot off this island. I'm ok with travel, I'm really from upstate N.Y. and lived in cities like Phoenix which is the size of R.I. Yea, R.I. should of been split up between Ct and Mass. I will get that info out, no need to stay over, some of those traveling a distance will need that more than I do. The wife would like to be there as well, so if she gets out early we will get there around 3pm Fri if that helps out.

BLIND DATE

She had to rush to meet him,
(They'd never met before).
They both lived in Rhode Island,
eight miles between their doors.

Their lives? Completely different!
Until they'd reached their prime,
life led them down their separate paths,
then joined them just one time.

She didn't know his mother,
('though she'd meet her late that day).
She must have heard some urgent call
to make her rush that way.

She'd never met his brother,
(but he'd be there when they met).
She'd make her first impression then,
which he would not forget.

She didn't know his name yet,
She'd never seen his face.
She knew no details of his life
but something pushed her pace.

Her timing must be perfect,
or she would miss their date;
unless she got there right on time,
they'd both escape this fate.

He'd spent the day relaxing,
in laughter and bright sun.
Surrounded by the ones he loved
and sharing his last fun.

He didn't know they had a date
(She'd never said a word).
He'd never even seen her face;
her voice he'd never heard.

He'd never asked to meet her;
He didn't want a date.
He'd met his love already and
he knew she was his mate.

His attitude was carefree,
He didn't push his pace.
He never really seemed to know
about her deadly race.

He was so close to home now
he could nearly see his door;
he'd park his bike and call his girl
in half a minute more.

He had so much to tell her
about his perfect day!
The light turned green to take him home ~
(he had the Right of Way).

He didn't see her coming;
He never learned her name.
He never knew what made her do
the thing for which she's blamed.

She never swerved to miss him.
She never touched the brakes.
In just a flash, his life was past;
the worst of her mistakes.

They met at that dark corner,
their first and final time.
Their 'date' was not successful ~
(she's simply not his kind).

If I could get one note to her
the message I would send
is, "You broke a thousand peoples' hearts
the day you killed our friend".

It was written with tears.

I wish, for everyone's sake, we could bring him back.

Here we go again.
If you haven't met a former Paratrooper/Ranger/martial arts guy who
cries, you haven't met me yet.
And I see that retired Marines can be touched in the very same way.

Maybe combat veterans feel it more than most, for despite the macho
image, they have seen death and lost good friends before.

I hate deja vu.

This post is to Robin Foote and his family. I first want to say I am sorry for having not posted sooner. I have been wrapped up in my own situation so much that I haven't been here to read about Colin. However today I spent 2 1/2 hours reading every post and every link. I live in west nebraska and have never met you or Colin but after today I feel as if I've known him forever and he would have been someone I would have been honred to call my friend. I wish I had known him and you. What you as a Dad are doing now greatly honors your son. As a fellow Dad I am very proud of you and wish all dads could pattern their parenting skills after yours. I have a 19 year old daughter and 17 year old son. Today I sat them down along with my daughters 19 year old boyfriend ( who ships off to boot camp on monday) and showed them his picture , told them Colins story and made them promise to share this with all their friends. I asked them to ask their friends to hug their parents when they here of this in Colins memory.
I want you to know that Colin has reached many people clear across the country and affected their lives.People you don't know and will never meet will be praying for you and your family. Families will be drawn closer together because of Colin. Because of the kind of person Colin was not because of what happened to him. We are all shedding tears over his leaving this earth, but I want you to find comfort in knowing he is in Heaven waiting on all of us. And even though it will be a long time I will get to meet Colin some day and I will be honored to share this with him.
I am so very sorry for the loss of such a great young man. And I apoligise for having not posted sooner.

See link below. It is sad to see that more serious charges are not being pressed (like manslaughter) but I know after speaking to Robin that we are far from the end of the journey to hold this person accountable for her actions.

Bill, you've sort of had your own hands full out there in the Prairie, and frankly, I'm rather impressed that you have gotten around to reading the CTZCC website even this soon!

Your words clearly mark you as a man who is familiar with the stress and fear of having his family pulled apart by tragedy. Spread our best wishes around to your wife and young'uns, please.

I think, under RI law, the most Laura Reale can get for this charge is 10 years imprisonment. Her family has some political clout, which might have some effect on that. I would rather see this incident cost her uncle his Senatorial seat, instead.

Frank
