Old rocker removed and replacement (Tabco) temporarily fitted. Replacements have extra metal at the top and bottom margins, assume grind this to fit after final fit & weld. Since I'm replacing rocker, lower rear qtr dog leg & lower rear front fender; assume need to fit and mock-up all pieces before final weld. Any suggestions and helpful hints appreciated. What's best welding wire size? Was thinking of .020 inch. Thanks - Harry

Sounds like you're progressing nicely.
.020 wire should be fine. I usually use .025 for sheet metal.
Make sure you stitch weld it so you don't deform the metal from the heat.
