In my original 260 I had purchased Cibie Z Beams as an upgrade. Does anyone have any recommendations as to a good current upgrade to the sealed beams that are original ?
Anything that say work as well as the newer lights found on current cars ?

I ended up going with these based on your suggestion and all the great reviews I read on their products. I chose the ones that are 100 watt High Beam and 55 Watt low. They are not going in for a couple of weeks as the car is being painted and its a perfect time to make changes. I am also adding the headlight covers in clear at the same time.

Those are them.....also it's a big price difference. I am also thinking these, but I want to run the 85/100 bubs I have for these......I got them when I go these for my ZX. you must upgrade wiring, and make sure you don't melt anything. So I never used them, sold ZX. Last time I drove mine at night, was original lights with shaded covers.......I thought I was gona die. I need to do this for now myself.....and no covers.

Doing the same thing . . . . car is being repainted changing out the headlights and harness at the same time.

Cool. Yea, I'm painting my front clip right now, good time to do lights. I think they are a good bang for the buck.

Mine work considerably better but not quite as well as the true modern one's do say in my wife's Infiniti. Still a welcome improvement over the old tech sealed beams.

Remind us, Karl ~ you upgraded the wiring looms and already had relay switches, yes?

So far just the lights . . . . they wanted to get the car out of the shop as they are quite busy so I will go back in a few weeks to change out the harness when they install the headlight covers.
All of the harness upgrades seem to work the same as they use the old wiring to operate the new relays and take power direct from the battery.
I will not be driving frequently at night before then.

Sounds like a safe plan.
I made the mistake of installing a 90amp alternator and new "landing light" headlamps, before I swapped out the fusebox. All the old timers warned me, and I intended to do it, but I just couldn't resist driving before the MSA blade-type fusebox came in.

I melted my old box and nearly burned my car.

I'm giving up on the headlight covers for now, (smoked), kinda defeats the purpose. In my best interest, I'm going to install the harness upgrade before I even try the new lights. I just got a mint fuse box cover and would like to keep it that way. If anyone wants to just have better lighting without any mods, AutoZone sells our headlights in the Sylvania silver stars.
