Can some tell me whether the OEM numbers (build month & last digits of VIN) on the build plate riveted to the driver's side door jamb are engraved or stamped on the plate. Think I've seen pics both ways. The numbers on the ID plate in my engine compartment are engraved (it is the original, I managed to save it). My door jamb plate is long gone...was discarded when rear fender was replaced & I wasn't that astute about such things at the time (back in late 80s). My '72's build date is Feb. (2/72). Firewall is engraved. Door jamb and engine bay plates were STAMPED. |
