I am sure some of you know this already, but for those of you with plastic headlight covers on your "daily" toothpaste works amazingly well to remove years of grime and gunk. Grab your toothpaste, a rag with some texture and go to work! Here are the results on mom's car. (About 10 minutes of work)

I recently used Mequiars Headlight polishing kit on my son's VW Golf and it worked very well. Comes with polish and a small foam ball that fits on a drill that does all the hard work.
