Yea, thats um me. If I can't find the mustach bar I might know someone who has, and the rear hanger. It's an easy swap, and you can see mine for reference. I also have the CV shafts, and easy swap as well. I think there is away to use the Porshe CV shafts, but have to research that. A little more heavy duty I guess.

Looking great!

Mice will still find a way into the car, even with multiple tarps cocooning the vehicle from bottom to top. At best they'll make a tomb of fabric fluff (from your upholstery or detritus from a nearby drier chute) inside your heater core, or the holes near the rear shock towers, or inside your very hard to replace dashboard. At worst they'll make a neat hole in your intake filter and store nuts and seed right before the throttle body. Ask me how I know....

Plug every possible orifice of the car that you can with thick steel wool to prevent the mice that do navigate/chew through the tarp from getting into the car. Also since it's wrapped up in an outdoor environment, place several buckets of desiccant (easily found at home depot, etc) to suck any moisture out of the air within your car's "bubble". Check them and empty the collected water every couple months on a nice day.

As for Porsche CV shafts, that sounds like a really good thing to look into. Just make sure it's from the right Porche. My uncle's 400+whp '86 944 shears them somewhat regularly...

Mice can get in there easily as well, it's not completely safe. The average mouse can squeeze through something like a 3/8" hole. That's tiny.

Seth,

Wow man welcome to the club! The car is going to be a beauty when its done. I really love the paint job.

What's your take on the reliability of the LT1 engine?

Check this out for giggles:

My LT1 has 4K miles on a fresh rebuild and dynoed at 297 hp with 300 torque. The T56 was fully built for autox. I got them both for a great price. My feeling is that I need to get at least a few seasons out of the LT1 before I upgrade. And if the optispark gives me any trouble I will just upgrade. Everyday the LS2 gets cheaper and cheaper...

I do have one electrical problem with my LT1 .... After a few weeks it started blowing the main fuse and eventually the starter itself. The PO failed to mention that an $8 starter relay would really help with this issue.... Otherwise the thing is a beast.

Good luck with everything and keep us posted!
