 Hi Scott. Forgive me for chuckling, but you've just sang every verse of a song we all know. It seems when you peel the first layer off that onion, you find another. And another. And.....then the wife gets interested.

It looks like you're pretty skilled at metalwork ~ where'd you learn it?

Frank

My 240Z restoration started with a trailer mishap that damaged the left rocker. Turned into a down-to-the-shell restoration that took 2 years.

Here are some of the pics of the process:

Great pics! It looks like you are doing a great job on your ZX. The metal work looks Great. I hope I can do 1/2 as good on mine when summer comes back around.

I think I found the guy who can weld my quarter panel in for me. Of course when he has the time... the work does look great. And I don't live that far from him. Maybe I'll stop by and check out the progress in person. He can meet "dangerous" Z in person.

hi ,
Thank you for all the great comments on my work, it took a long time to get to this point. i have been a tool and die maker for the past 35 years but have vary little body work experience .My first project i started doing body work on my old blazer . The bottom quarters needed a little work ,then i had mako put a cheap paint job on it. The first thing i did was to read alot of books or magazines at the library. The second thing was to buy a good welder( lincoln 110 wire feed) . Dont be afraid of making a mistake because that how you learn. As for welding that quarter on .You can send me a email ,but i cant do it till spring i want to finish my car. Before i get paint on my z i want to powdercoat the rear end and put new bushing and shocks in. You guys havent seen the car with primer on it yet. More pick to come

Thanks scott from shelton, ct
