Randy Nickel at Vintage Rubber has just posted some new WS kits on the site. Some of you that also check out the Classic Z site may have seen a post by Les Canady a few weeks ago about a new WS kit in the works - this is the new kit he was talking about. I've been talking to Randy to get details on what is different - it is primarily the main door seals. Per Randy, these are from all new tooling at PRP, he claims they cure the "bulging door" syndrome. The kit is a blend of PRP and VR products.

Right now his site has a count problem: the 240Z page says it is a 19 piece kit, the detail list is 17 pieces. A similar problem is on the 260Z and 280Z pages. I sent him a note on this. He also has new "full resto" kits with more stuff.

Disclaimer: I have no vested interest in Vintage Rubber.

Hmmmm. After looking at the website, I wonder if the two missing pieces might be those weather strips on the leading top edge of each door, in the hinge area? (The ones Thor is missing).

My Z is missing the two short 'upper outer' strips in either corner of the hatch, but water refuses to leak into that area anyway.

The two pieces removed from the 19-pc set were upper door strips for the 75-78 cars. You can see them listed in the 260 and 280 sets.

I was impressed by how much money they are charging for their kits....way more than I paid for mine from MSA.
I got great results sealing my doors with weatherstripping you order by the foot from Mcmaster Carr. It replaces the stock separate weatherstripping and welting with a single piece that you press fit over the door edge.
