Im seriously considering to change my Z back in to its original colour someday. It was repainted 2 years ago. Current colour is awesome (but poor paintjob) but there is some little voice in my head that says "paint it lime"

I was wondering is that limegreen rare colour amongst Zees? I haven't seen many limegreen z's online...

Big Phil (as he's known in the HybridZ community) probably has the most "famous" 280z besides one other individual, both of which live in the southwest US. Yes, its a rare color. Looks great with black accents. Those are the only other sublime green Z's I know of.

I didn't realize that Big Phil had painted his car Lime Green. I haven't spent enough time on Hybridz recently.

Somewhere I have a picture of the EXCELLENT Lime 280Z which won our First Annual Z Car Show (the car with the chrome wire wheels).

If Rev sees a picture of that car with those spokes, he'll fall in love.

Under Body/Styling/Appearance is a thread titled 'Z wheel thread' authored by vagabond. One the first page of said thread is a post by our esteemed club photog guy Phil (phil280zxt) that has a pic of Bob Nelson's green Z (the one w/ the wire wheelz). Just not sure if that's lime green or not. Iz Robin Foote's 240 lime green? And what part of the lime are we talking about anyway, the outer rind? The inner fruit? Inquiring mindz wanna know!

i would say if one was judging by the outside of a Lime then yes Colin's Z is Lime rind green. but if it is a bright green then it's the inner fruit itself.

I wonder if we are all talking about the same color?

The 69-71 Z had a nice yellow they called Sunshine Yellow, color code
919. It was a nice (but not quite as bright) lemony or canary yellow like
the Code 51 Corvette yellow from the 70s, or the more recent Mustang
or VW Bug yellow.

Then in 72-73 another yellow, code 112 was introduced for the ZCar.
It wasn't really a yellow, but neither was it the lime green that y'all seem
to be describing. I guess I would call it yellow with a hint or tint of lime.
In fact, back in the day it was often called "lemon and lime."

Funny thing, one of each took a First in Nashville in their respective
classes. Laverne Burkhart from Toronto had a stunning 919 yellow 70,
while Jeff Mader from Boston had an equally dazzling 112 yellow 72.
Jeff's car, BTW, is one of the 37 Factory Restored 240Zs.

But back to Rev's original question: Rev, you are unusually perceptive.
I don't think there are any production stats to go on, so all I can offer
you is 40 years' experience. For some reason these did seem to be
lower in numbers than most other available colors, such as the blues,
reds, oranges, whites, greens, silvers, and butterscotches.

I wonder if the paint code decal is still on your car's radiator support?
I can practically guarantee you that if you had it refinished in 112 yellow,
there wouldn't be another like it in your neighborhood. Nor for several
NATIONS surrounding.

Quite right, Al ~ that's the one we're looking for.

http://forums.ctzcc.com/viewtopic.php?t=4015&start=15

This is what I am referring to as Lime Green. Anyone seeing this color in the previous photograph (the one of the Sunshine Yellow Z), please report to the Optometrist in the morning!

Thanks Rick!
Yea it probably was painted with 112. My engine bay is still on the original colour (same as the car in
cfg240z's link) but the decal was faded. I got the spark last weekend as i met few enthusiasts and they were all like "YOU GOTTA PAINT IT ORIGINAL, MAN!" maybe they were a bit TOO dedicated to this 8) First of all: i aint got the dollar to paint it, maybe some stage in the future, secondly: my wife was "Dont ruin that colour!!"
That lemon and lime is really nice colour and yes, it probably is one of kind in all skandinavia if painted that way.

I forget what year your Z was, but my 72 was that color at one time, and yea, poor paint job, so the color shows throughout the car if you look hard enough. Here are 3 I seen in one day. The one from Mass. is one of the Nissan restoration jobs from the 90's. I think I'll keep mine white.
