Post subject:  Leaking power steering fluid on your 300zx Z32?

It is a very common issue on the 300zx's who still have the original high pressure power steering hose or the "J-hose".

1st-the high pressure hose leaks where the hard line is crimped onto the hose part and is notorious for leaking. This has been a common problem for this model of Z car almost since it's inception.

It can only be replaced, there is no known "fix" of this hose. There are both new OEM and rebuilt hoses (core charge applies) available.

2nd- the J-hose, which carries power steering fluid from the reservoir to the intake side of the power steering pump has become hard and allows fluid to leak by. It is not very hard to cut the old one off and replace it with a new piece, there are both OEM and Silicone parts available. We recommend the silicone as it is less expensive and lasts forever. Also, replace the clamps they are pretty old as well and often not working correctly.

By replacing these parts you are 2 steps closer to a leak free Z car!!
